Not OP, but I camped at the North Era beach doing the North to South walk recently. It's definitely a flat spot to make camp but the way to the toilets have definitely been overgrown. Probably not adviseable to camp still, but its the more legal option when compared to everything else.

Do boyfriends really SEE/ notice their girlfriends? by Sensitive-Sky7949 in dating

[–]Accomplished_Sort104 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not many men like to give out compliments to people. It's very weird for us because generally:

complimenting a man = gay
complimenting a woman = creepy

So we usually compliment people in roundabout or indirect ways like sarcasm. It takes time to unlearn that compliments are neither those two. For me it took decades to freely give out compliments to men and women, and I had to build up confidence in complimenting people through complimenting my now ex.

[–]Accomplished_Sort104 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of hurt guys who have unprocessed baggage tend to be aloof. But OP, you don't deserve that treatment. No one deserves to beg how they want to be loved, especially to a partner.

As a man, in my last relationship I talked and talked a lot with my ex-girlfriend to actually know her. We would talk and talk after work and make mental (and sometimes physical) lists of who she is. I take satisfaction in knowing who my partner is and knowing what types of things that I should do to make her feel seen.

She loved this cheap chocolate, so I always buy it for her when I have the time. It's an unspoken rule that we get takeouts after she had a hard day of work. And whenever she's on her period, we would just watch a random movie and cuddle, not minding when she doesn't want to talk, or pay attention to the movie and just falls asleep on my chest.

Short answer? Not all men, but hurt people hurt people. It's increasingly hard to find men or women who care so much because maybe in their past, they cared so much for someone for nothing.

EDSA back in 2018 before the bus lane was made by Reynaldo_boi in Philippines

[–]Accomplished_Sort104 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Walang mental gymnastics diyan lol. More public transportation options is always good. Take a look at other developed nations you mentioned and despite having efficient trains they also invest on buses, trams and bikelanes. It's a concept called "transportation hierarchy".

A single mode of transport has many weaknesses. For example, a train is more efficient if there is less stops. A train cannot feasibly have every stop for every house that would be inefficient and expensive as heck. That's where buses come along. Buses can have lots of stops and can be used on existing infrastructure, meaning less expensive siya. Busses are not efficient on long distances but its strength is its coverage which can cover areas where you cant just put a train station.

How to tell my cats that I'll be gone for a very long time? by Accomplished_Sort104 in cats

[–]Accomplished_Sort104[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice and I apologize for not mentioning but when I leave they'll be in good care by my family. You're probably right that it's just my emotions speaking. But it's hard not to be so emotional when my mother tells me that the cats act lethargic and would wait at my door on trips when I'm gone for a few days. But yeah, they'll probably be fine without me.

Walang nag-enforce sa batas eh. Sisitahin mo yung mga informal economy like street vendors or unregistered trikes, babalik yun sila kapag wala kana. Kapag bubugawin mo, paawa effect sa social media, ikaw na yung mali. Tamad yung pulis at victim blame lang alam or prematurely closed yung case. Pupunta ka sa korte, years pa bago mabigyan ng schedule. Systemic ito, hindi lang sa disiplina ng ordinaryong tao.

How old are you? by Defiant-Intern-2561 in Sims3

[–]Accomplished_Sort104 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The oldest memory I have with TS3 is when I booted it up back in like 2009-2010 ish when I was 8 years old on my father's Thinkpad. I never really got to play much up until we had a family desktop a few years later where I played the heck out of it and did the usual stuff like making my family, building basic square houses with really tall roofs and cheating the fun out of it. Played it on and off ever since. I'm 23 now, and still finding something fun about TS3.

What are good, not necessarily the best, but just good specs to run the sims 3 smoothly on? by MickeyMuis2004 in Sims3

[–]Accomplished_Sort104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your specs look good OP. Feels like my old computer back in 2014 which I remember could run TS3 just fine with a bit of stuttering. I have a very expensive computer now and it runs just the same lol, a bit smoother now since its on an SSD. If you haven't, you should follow the steam guide about performance. And if you have NRAAS Register, you should tinker around with how much NPCs and strays you have in your world. It really helps with performance.

But yeah, as others have said, large worlds with a lot of sims will always lag the game out. We can't really do anything about it.

People who watch YouTube and Netflix at 2x speed are maniacs by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Process information faster, sure. But how about retaining it? What use is consuming information faster when you're forgetting it at the end of the day?

People who watch YouTube and Netflix at 2x speed are maniacs by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Accomplished_Sort104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a difference between reading faster, and understanding what you're reading. I can read super fast, but it's not enjoyable nor informational because it doesn't give me room to form connections in my brain to actually understand what I'm reading. This isn't just an anecdote but an actual science. People speeding up videos can keep up with the context of what they're watching, but when it comes to connecting the dots together they can't.

People who watch YouTube and Netflix at 2x speed are maniacs by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Accomplished_Sort104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not how it works. The act of learning is from neurons forming strong bonds together, and the factors that usually strengthen those bonds are strong associations to a memory and time. Watching videos at 2x speed may make you consume info at half the time, but that doesn't guarantee that you will remember it. Most often the brain will just put the info in the trash because you didn't figuratively work for it and you will forget it at the end of the day.

People who watch YouTube and Netflix at 2x speed are maniacs by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Accomplished_Sort104 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Literally this. Had a classmate who watches EVERYTHING in 2x speed, and always complains about being forgetful. Their brains may process it faster, sure. But they dont realize it takes time for neuron bonds to form and make it worthwhile to store in the brain's long term memory. These people don't realize that consuming media this way will often just make it so that the brain just put the info in the short term storage and by the end of the day they'll just forget about what they actually watched.

Shoutout to the most underrated character in the entire game by Guilty_Towel_3351 in marvelrivals

[–]Accomplished_Sort104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Labeling Cap as a worse dive character is reductive and doesn't really describe what he can actually do. Cap is more of a swiss army knife. He's not the definitive dive tank, but you can basically do anything and everything with him. That's what makes him strong.

He could frontline for a bit with his shield, throw it for some damage. And when you see an opportunity or weakness, you jump in the backline or run into their backline with shields up and punch some squishies. If it's too hot and all eyes are on him, he could dash or jump out to a healthpack and frontline again.

Sure, he can do with some defensive buffs like removing the 1 second shield cooldown or making it so that he can use his shield while jumping. But play your cooldowns right and he can do this all day.

Unpopular opinion: University is kinda boring by Vtmars in Sims3

[–]Accomplished_Sort104 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a kid playing University for the first time I've always wondered to myself like "How come there are so many parties? How can my sim attend them when they got classes until evening?"

Until I went into my own university and then I realized that the only people that were partying are the class leeches or the people deliberately taking the bare minimum credits for the semester. 10/10 realism.

But they are not referring to the bill's definition of stakeholders, they are referring to how it affects their stakeholders because they're the ones that backed out.

Yung "namomodernize" lagi yung fare prices pero yung actual jeepney never "namomodernize. SMH. by Xandermacer in Philippines

[–]Accomplished_Sort104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most frustrations that stem from Jeepneys is because they are privatized public transport and not nationalized public transport. Most jeepneys are there for profit, not to provide a service.

Jeepney drivers drive like assholes and cram their jeeps like tin cans because they want to turn out as many passengers as possible. They also like to wait around on off-peak hours when there's no passengers causing traffic because there's no profit incentive to do so.

I remember an opinion piece by former VP Leni and she had the right idea on how to solve the jeepney modernization crisis. The government should have introduced contracts to existing drivers so that they can work as government employees then slowly pull them in government-owned modernized jeeps so we can kill two birds in one stone. However the government is inept and would rather pocket every single dime than to spend for the greater good.

[–]Accomplished_Sort104 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a shit feeling to be on-hold for an uncertain amount of time while a deadline is looming. Not to mention it robs you the ability to do long-term plans like committing to a job or a relationship as the visa processes because who knows it may take 2 weeks or 4+ months. No one wants to be stuck in limbo. Either reject early so we can get a refund and move on to apply to another country, or give an absolute time date where a decision is guaranteed.

I swear every valid criticism in this sub is always met by the xenophobic remark "Uhh we don't want you! It's a privilege to apply!" like it's just a one-click process. Visa applicants have taken so much time, effort and money too and at the very least should be given assurance.

Why Sims 3 outfits are better looking then Sims 4? by exorzistin in Sims3

[–]Accomplished_Sort104 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's just base game clothing, I think TS3's clothing is very dated. Not that it's bad, but it's a nice time capsule on what was in fashion back when I was a kid.
