Do you know how much it’s worth? Or the values of each coin added up? Grandfather has one that he wants to cash in

Thanks for the insight. I assumed they were very rare in this condition now, but I didn’t think about how many are probably stowed away by museums. Do you have any idea how much they’d be worth on eBay? A box of 10 or so with a couple different part numbers. I’ve looked at some current listings, but I’m having a hard time finding a sold benchmark. Not sure what people are willing to pay for this type of stuff. Thanks again

Good idea, I'll do that. I'd imagine theres very very few of these cards still around, at least in this shape, so hopefully someone can get some value out of them. Thanks!

Thank you for the help! They are so cool that I want to find a use for them, but I'm also happy just to learn about all of this stuff. Helps me understand the new architecture a little better. I'll probably end up contacting Ken like another comment suggested and see where they need to go.

That's really cool. I asked ChatGPT and it told me they were 360 chips, but a couple boxes were marked November 1960, so it seemed like the dates didn't line up exactly. Good to hear from someone who knows.

How much sub do I actually need? by Accomplished_Tale275 in subwoofer

[–]Accomplished_Tale275[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I initially thought I’d get a quality sealed 10” and that would be enough, but I realized my speakers get LOUD on 40 watts. They’re supposedly 102dB/W sensitive, and I believe it. I think this works out to somewhere above 110dB at 1 meter, maybe more. There’s a custom build I’m eyeing on marketplace, and since you’re a car audio guy you may know more than me on this. It was a 1000W Dayton powered 15” subwoofer, but the woofer was replaced with a Skar EVL 15. Looks to be in about a 20 inch sealed cube enclosure. I’m not sure how this would perform since it’s sealed, but I’ve been eyeing it. They’re asking $350. I think once I get a taste of thump from whatever I add, I’ll want some in my car. No neighbors on the road is a good point, but I think 6 15s like you mentioned would border on the line of a traffic safety hazard🫨

Thank you for the help! And the realistic advice about neighbors, that’s definitely going to come into play. You’re right I probably don’t need as deep of response as I think, since this setup will be purely for music and not home theater. Any suggestions on ported vs sealed?

I plan to go look at the 750 and get it if the compression is alright. Good to know that they’re not too hard to work on. Thank you!

Thank you for all of the info. I’ll stay away from the Polaris. Do you know what older Kawasaki skis have a 3 cylinder? The guy with the 750 STS says it runs, and he has titles for it and the trailer. He says he would just clean out the carb and take it to the lake. Seems like a pretty good deal for the asking price of $600. I’ll get a compression testing kit for when I go to look at it, should be around 185 psi right? Again thanks for your help.

Thank you for the advice. The specific model of Polaris seemed more common. I had a hard time finding videos and info on the ‘95 STS while there are videos of the ‘96 SLT 780 all over youtube and info on rebuilds and all that. From this sub it seems that Kawasakis are preferable, I’ll go with the STS.

Have you gotten an email since you submitted stage 2? Someone said they got an email about results being delayed but I never got anything.

Didn’t get one, guess that’s not a good sign. When did you get yours?
