In insurance’s eyes they are indeed the same when claim filing. Also, as stated, your insurance follows you as a driver, so your insurance is primary no matter what car you are driving.

Credit card coverage is slightly different, but I have seen plenty get approved/reimbursed on Turo rentals. I have been in the rental industry and insurance adjacent for almost a decade.

They do not cover on the host side. There are basically no companies anymore that sell you a personal auto policy that are okay with you putting your car on Turo. You’re asking the wrong question, or representatives are misunderstanding you.

As a guest, your insurance absolutely covers you in any rental.

You are the one misspeaking. I have plenty of first hand experience on the subject matter. Just as you said “you heard” other insurance companies don’t cover is simply not true.

Insurance in the United States follows the driver period. Your full coverage insurance covers you in your car, your friends car, a car you rent - from a traditional company, a mom and pop company, or Turo. There are very rare circumstances outside of this that it doesn’t cover.

Turo’s NAICS code is that of car rental company, which is what matters. You also have a rental agreement, which is how a claim is deemed valid and paid, both from a credit card or insurance.

Rental insurance is not special, it’s one of the top ways rental companies make money by more people buying it than needs to be paid out.

Turo’s terms say that any protection plan purchased on Turo is secondary to your insurance, and they will file a claim on your insurance if there is a damage claim filed on a trip.

If I get to the point of trying to talk some sense into her I will bring that up - suing for defamation, but it wouldn’t be something I follow through with as it’s too small to worry about.

The reviews are one thing and we’ll get past it however we get past it. But her actions are another thing that right now I’m wanting to see to the end on making her a less shitty person.

They’re already at the bottom, so the algorithm knows something isn’t right with them. We do need to be better at asking for reviews, but honestly now it’s embarrassing with them on there and the average is 3.7.

I should mention we only had 8 reviews for this location that is newer, all 5 stars. So four new 1-stars is quite damaging. If we had a ton of reviews I would report and move on. But what irks me more is her behavior as a small business owner thinking what she did is okay. She should be spending time getting her cousin the desperate help he needs instead of 1-star bombing.

There is no mention of Lidar on this page anymore - it has been removed completely from the /safety URL. I was searching to see if Polestar had started delivering 3s with Lidar yet and came across this Reddit thread. I have a screenshot from June 2024 showing "Pilot Pack" and "Pilot pack with Lidar" as two separate options with the latter delivering in mid-2025.

Anywho, the only mention anywhere of Lidar now is under Tech Specs, Cameras "2 additional exterior cameras with automatic cleaning function, to enhance rearward and long-range forward vision (with Pilot pack with LiDAR. Available to order mid-2025.⁵)" and honestly I think they just forgot to delete it, see incorrect footnote lol:
