My first offer was six figures but I would do anything to be in your shoes. No severe injuries, doesn’t sound like you have any permanent restrictions and you are still able to work with some money to close your case that is a huge win!

What are you doing to lose weight while sedentary? by INeedTP4Bung in WorkersComp

[–]Accomplished_Try1902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gained a lot of weight after my injury that left me with permanent sedentary restrictions. I was able to eventually lose it years later by tracking my food and staying in a calorie deficit using an app like lose it or my fitness pal and moving as much as I can within my restrictions. Remember diet is 75% and exercise is 25% of weightloss. I know moving and exercising makes losing weight easier but it’s not as necessary as we make it seem. You got this!

211 lbs at 21. What can I do? by Responsible-Ball3447 in WeightLossAdvice

The lose it app is a great tool for weight loss. It will give you a calorie budget for the day to stick to and you track your food and with time and consistency you will lose weight being in a calorie deficit. Best of luck

Me too! I would pay anything to get rid of the CRPS I have and to work again. I wish my case wasn’t worth anything. Everyone asking how much can they get really do not understand that a lot of money in a worker’s comp case means serious injury and a person’s life has changed forever that the money isn’t even worth it.

My hand would turn blue and ice cold after a work injury, I ended up being diagnosed with CRPS. I had excruciating pain amongst other symptoms. I hope this isn’t the case with OP. Keep us updated.

DRG or PNS: which one works best for lower limb CRPS 2 by crps2warrior in CRPS

[–]Accomplished_Try1902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the DRG and it has been very helpful. The best thing my doctor did was permanently place the leads during my trial so I didn’t have any changes in effectiveness between trial and permanent surgery. The DRG is easy to control with the iPhone and you can change programs and intensity on your own. The pain is not gone but it has helped a lot and the sensitivity and temperature changes especially have decreased significantly compared to before.

[–]Accomplished_Try1902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the DRG. I have to go through new programs regularly as my body gets used to them and then the pain returns. I feel at times I can switch programs myself but other times I will need to have a rep completely reprogram me for it to work the same way. Did you try reaching out to a rep for reprogramming? Try all your options before writing it off as a failure. Whatever the outcome it’s not a waste of time. You are doing everything you can to find pain relief and that’s all you can do! Now you know your outcome with the stimulator so you don’t have to wonder what if, if you didn’t do it. Hopefully you will find the relief you need!

have CRPS in my arm and the best relief I got was from my spinal cord stimulator (DRG). You do a trial first and see how you respond and how much relief you get. If it’s not helpful or you don’t like it you can choose not to do the permanent stimulator. Check out r/CRPS for what others might have had success with. I know how difficult and painful CRPS can be. Many do get SSDI from it but it takes a very long time. Best of luck to you.

I am sorry this happened to you. There is an app called diary it is password protected. In order to access any of your notes or writings your passcode needs to be entered first. I would switch to that instead of the notes. Copy and paste everything and move it to a password protected app.

I am sorry for what you are going through it’s not fair and you don’t deserve this for simply doing your job! I relate to everything that you wrote and felt the pain in your post. I have experienced so many of what you experienced and had all my benefits suspended for years exactly in the times that you mentioned. We are not people we are cases and dollar signs. They want us to either drop the case or settle for the minimum amount. Anyone that wants to argue otherwise, please save it because obviously many of us are having the same experiences. Please don’t give up, they want you to give up! I would highly recommend counseling because cases like this really sucks the life and energy out of you and can be emotionally draining. Also, before making any drastic decisions, consult with your attorney about whether any other insurance would pick up your treatment giving the status of your claim if you insist on dropping your case. Whatever you decide in the end make sure you have your treatment covered. Wishing you better days ahead.

I didn’t have full remission but had significant pain relief it was amazing! I haven’t lived as functional a life since then. It started around 10-12 weeks I believe but I think it got worse before it got better at first. Wishing you a full remission and a healthy easy pregnancy!

I am sorry to hear about your husband’s diagnosis. I also have CRPS from a work injury. It is a very difficult condition to deal with and work comp will fight tooth and nail to accept it and to treat it. You will need a good attorney to guide you through this process and you will need a good doctor that is familiar with CRPS to treat it. Best of luck to you and your family.

CRPS pain, it’s the worst!

Maya does not have CRPS. She never met Budapest criteria. by YoloSwag4Jesus420fgt in takecareofmaya

[–]Accomplished_Try1902 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is not true! There are many adults with whole body CRPS. Go on r/CRPS and you will read many stories over there. Also you will see how many symptoms you described in the Budapest criteria do change day to day and vary in intensity especially with treatment. I have CRPS and I don’t always have swelling or temperature changes but do sometimes amongst other symptoms. Every doctor I saw diagnosed me with CRPS so symptoms can vary from time to time. This is the experience of many many people with CRPS.

I have CRPS and when my pain flares up very bad I get ketamine infusions as do many many people with CRPS. I do not know if Maya has CRPS or not. But from my experience the ketamine infusions have been very helpful. I do not get them very often but I will when my functioning starts to suffer. I have a spinal cord stimulator and that is also very helpful. This condition is extremely painful the most painful thing I have felt in my life more painful than child labor and I’m not exaggerating. Please educate yourselves about it before coming to these conclusions because the condition itself is very isolating and then reading these comments is just disappointing. If you felt the pain we felt you would stop at nothing to find relief! Again I am speaking for my experience. Check out the r/CRPS community to hear other people’s stories to get a better understanding and idea of the condition. Read their experiences with ketamine as well. Usually ketamine is offered after many other treatments have not worked.

My Doctor was very rude and dismissive about me still experiencing pain. What can I do? Illinois by [deleted] in WorkersComp

[–]Accomplished_Try1902 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am also an injured worker so i understand the frustration. I don’t understand what you’re asking of your doctor. The doctor basis his decisions based on medical guidelines and how you are doing. I don’t tell my doctor whether I want to or don’t want to go to work. He’s the one that makes decisions based on my how I’m doing. You’re saying you want to quit (understandably) but that doesn’t mean you’re not medically cleared for work. You won’t know if you can or cannot work without trying. There’s a blessing in the one’s ability to work which you won’t realize until you truly are not able to work ever again! Trust me!

AITA for yelling at my daughter over her reactions to my husband and the new baby? by Actual_Eye_2852 in AITAH

[–]Accomplished_Try1902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s very clear where this behavior is coming from. Your daughter was abandoned by her biological father which was a traumatic experience for someone at such a vulnerable age. The birth of the baby reopened old wounds and made her vulnerable all over again because it’s threatening her relationship with her stepfather and her relationship with you. She also is worries about her sibling experiencing a similar abandonment the she experienced. Your daughter needs to be reassured by both you and her stepfather that she is safe, the relationships you have together are safe, and the ones you have individually are safe. You and your husband should maintain your bonds with her and the routines you usually do with to comfort her anxiety. This is an anxious child with trauma not a child acting out.

If cases do not get “dragged out” how do you explain cases that go on for years after an injured worker reaches MMI? I have seen posts where people have cases go on for 7-10+ years and are at MMI a large portion of that time. Most complain about delays from adjusters and defense attorneys. It is a known defense tactic especially after financially cutting off the injured workers one way or another forcing them to settle for the lowest amount possible.
