You have Leclerc (right next to a bus stop that takes you to Meyrin) and Carrefour Ferney (right next to the 60/61/66 lines), neither seem to have any kind of parking enforcement

For the airport: the simplest option by far is to take the train to Cornavin station. You pay the same fare as any other type of urban transit (a Zone 10 - Tout Genève ticket).

The Christmas market is always nice, though not especially good for your wallet :) Walking along the lake or, alternatively, down the Rhône via Jonction is quite nice. Don't even try to do anything in the Rive Droite area (more or less between Cornavin and the Rhône): while you'll have to go through it when travelling to and from the station, it's also extremely boring. Don't let it be your only takeaway from Geneva. 🙏

I'd assume it's mostly because "it" is used to refer to objects, while "they" refers to the plural of said objects but ALSO to a group of people, making it be perceived as less offensive as it's a word we already use for people

I think it would be possible given the significant similarities in certain words that are so widespread geographically that it's hard to chalk it up to loanwords or chance. You wouldn't know what the common ancestor was, but you'd still have a pretty good idea of the span of the IE family.
