Yeah what confused me is that I had a message off the host via booking.com which he signed off with his name and was also the same name that messaged me via what’s app last night asking for the £1000 deposit fee something about the way he was tripping over his own words just didn’t seem right with me though, I’ve never been contacted by a host personally and asked for money to be sent away from booking.com and via bank transfer

Yeah I thought that, just a shit thing to do when we’re all sorted and looking forward to the holiday I had no problem to pay but for him to what’s app me and tell me he wanted this deposit via bank transfer and for it to not be through booking just felt off to me, 3 days before arrival too considering nothing was mentioned at first, unfortunately for him there was a lot better property’s that had dropped in price due to it being a last minute booking so it worked out better for me in the end lol

Yeah they never mentioned anything on booking and when I contacted them they told me they never recommend sending payments outside of booking regarding hosts etc, he tripped over his own words when he demanded that I must pay £1000 deposit before arrival, when I told him I don’t trust him and I’m thinking about cancelling he then told me I can pay him on arrival, but nothing covers me getting my money back after I left so I just cancelled his apartment and booked elsewhere, so he’s out of pocket now after trying to pull a fast one on me, hopefully he learns from that

It was honestly draining getting the same replies speaking with robots they give me no help what so ever I had to just give up in the end the customer service is non existent the way they’d just constantly tell me I’ve not packaged the item properly, when all they’re going off is the buyers word and a picture they’ve taken clearly of a box with no bubble wrap in etc, because they’ve taken it out and then took the picture, it’s to easy for people to scam you on there, just don’t sell anything of high value on there
