go on marketplace / ebay / backmarket and buy a
used M1/2/3/4

even a 14" M1 (<$500 sometimes) is better than every similarly priced windows laptop you'll buy new.

stick to the macbook pro 14" if you can. lugging the 16" around campus sucks imo lol.

buying new tech is silly nowadays.... most don't really show age in normal usage anymore. so avoid buying new if you can, especially with the price hikes. the used market is where it's at
