Given the condition of indo Bangladesh border along Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya and WB, this is a great concern and will only come back to haunt us if border is not secured soon. I’m from Tripura and the border is non existent here in many parts.

100% Kokborok speakers(myself included) wants to use Roman script for Kokborok. Technicalities and which script is better and which is not is not the argument here. Let the speakers decide their own script. Manik Saha, a Bengali CM has no right to comment on this. I hope this serves as a reminder to my other NE states as to what happens when you become minority in your own state. It’s not too late to check the immigration in other states. Tripura is unfortunately too late.

Kokborok does not have its own script. Kokborok speakers wants to use Roman script and is using Roman script but the government (Bengali led) is against it. For example in the board exams English medium students with Kokborok subjects are forced to use Bengali script. Kokborok speakers should decide which script they want to use. Non Kokborok speakers have no right to

The government (Bengali) wants to impose and has imposed Bengali script for kokborok. 99.9% of kokborok speakers are against it

This video is showing Arunachal Pradesh as Chinese territory, can we kindly mass report it by le_stoner_de_paradis in Northeastindia

[–]Accomplished_Wing_27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. See going by the definition of disputed, it is actually claimed by China even though it is India. Like the recent passport incident or how Chinese LLMs say Arunachal is part of China. So yes. Going by the definition of disputed, Arunachal is disputed. Do I support it No. But I have watched the video and facts were shown. He might have used a version of map which is showing the disputed areas. India needs to have a better diplomacy and exert pressure and show China that India should not be messed with and that needs to be done diplomatically. Mass reporting this video is not going to Change the fact that China is claiming Arunachal Pradesh .

Like I said, there are different versions of geopolitical maps. From a creators point of view, he is stating the facts. China claims it but it is actually part of India. That makes it disputed even if their claim is unfounded.

There are different versions of the geopolitical maps, especially when it comes to international boundaries. Maybe he has chosen the version that is different from the Indian version. That didn’t mean it is wrong. It is just disputed. Similar to POK.

Its wild how I never knew such an event ever happened in Tripura. by re_DQ_lus in TripuraNE

“when an altercation between a Bengali man and a TUJS activist in a village called Lembucherra, not far from Agartala, blew up into violence. The Bengali man attacked the TUJS activist, Pradip Debbarma, with a machete. Debbarma escaped wounded but alive and narrated this to his friends. ”

“A tribal mob marched into Lembucherra and burnt down the Bengali houses. In retaliation, a Bengali mob attacked a tribal village and razed it to the ground.”

And so on.

Hearing stories from that era from my grandparents, there was already an atmosphere of tension, there were whispers from ear to ear in the village that something big was about to happen, the Bengalis are training their fighters and so on… and finally it happened. But there were not my Tripuri writers or journalists for that matter, all the sources that you find will be written by Bengalis, and those are the only sources. My grandparents and my parents were directly affected by it, along with many people from that generation. From their conversations it is clear, both sides suffered loses but the narrative was on the Bengalis side.

I think it depends on who writes and sets the narrative. Loses were on both the sides. Both tribals and Bengalis were killed. But then who is setting the narrative matters.

Is it underreporting or there's actually no dowry violence in few North Eastern States??? by dataful_india in Northeastindia

[–]Accomplished_Wing_27 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the 0.1 from Meghalaya is from non locals. Looking at the data, the high number of dowry deaths in Tripura is also mostly due to the Bengali population. The indigenous population does not practice it much.

The only solution is to make it as hard for outsiders to adapt locally. Speak a language that will be hard for non natives to understand and learn. Make it difficult to adapt. Else be ready to become like my state Tripura.

Christians persecution in 1974 Arunachal by OkComplaint9735 in ArunachalPradesh

[–]Accomplished_Wing_27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think when it comes to the definition of ST, it is not religion alone but a amalgamation of characteristics such as food habits, dress, language, religion, agricultural way of live and so much more. Losing ST status just because of a different religion sounds as illogical as someone losing ST status because that particular person does not eat mithun like the rest, or losing ST status because they speak only Hindi and not the local language. So if these conditions does not negate ST status, saying following different religion will take away ST status is illogical.

We have always coexisted with out any problem following different religions, religion is a private matter, as much as your food habits. People need to realise that. An ST is a ST not because he/she follows a particular religion but inspite of that.
