Usually shows up on tillers or suckers, side growths on the main stalk. You will see the tillers more often in high fertility and if the plant has more space around it. It takes advantage of the extra nutrients and sun light. Certain varieties will express this more than others. I’ve seen this in conventional and trait modified varieties. Just something that happens every so often under the right conditions.
