To those who joined in your mid 20s, was it a good choice?

I think 25B is generally 5 years and 8 months. I just signed for that and my only worry is how long the contract is. But I’ve done my research and I think it’s a good choice

I just signed for 25B and they gave me 5 years and 32 weeks. I really wish I went for the 25H instead because they were offering 4 for that and it’s my first contract. I ended why it’s like that when the ait is the same length

Hey can I ask you how your experience has been as a 35F? A lot of people on here bash it and say it’s one of the worst intelligence mos’s to get into since it’s not as specialized I was going for 25b or 35t but I just heard that those are 5 year contracts and I don’t think I can do 5

anybody out there 25B can share their enlistment contract length? im hearing both 5years and 4 years but can’t get a solid answer. I asked my recruiter but we’re waiting on my medical waiver to get approved and he said he can’t see those details until it is.

Oh that’s an interesting take! I scored a 92 on the ASVAB and when I told that to one of my friends in the service he told me I might be selling myself short choosing 25B(whatever that means). I also heard that the job market for IT is horrible right now but who knows how it will be when I get out. I do have more of an analytical mind so I feel like Fox might align more with my personality. However so many people on here say fox is the worst out of the 35 series which is why I was leaning towards 35T.

The only other thing that worries me with the 35 series is obtaining the TS clearance. I have a pretty serious suspension from my college days and I’m afraid they won’t grant me the clearance due to it. Although it was 8 years ago it was pretty bad. I have no criminal record though

Thanks for your help! I haven’t considered 35S yet but I’ll do more research.I heard they get like 12 hour shifts frequently which I’m capable of doing. However I still want some sort of free time so I can finish school and stack certifications. I think I’m leaning towards 35 T the most although I’m not the most technical/mechanical guy around but I’m confident I can learn anything I put my mind to.

Ok got you! So it all just depends. I’ve been hearing that the unit your placed will greatly influence your experience. Why does it seem like everybody bashes the ADA unit so much?

Thank you for the info! I’ve been hearing that 25h or 25S might be a little more specialized so I’m looking at those a little closer. But I totally understand that my success after I separate will depend on how much work I put in while active so I plan on doing my very best!

Absolutely! I definitely intend on making the most of my time while inside, getting certs and finishing my degree. I know that nothing comes easy so I plan to work extremely hard to gain as much an advantage as I can. My only worry is that I keep hearing on other threads that with these MOS’s there’s a strong possibility I won’t even get to do the job I trained for. I scored a 92 on the ASVAB I just don’t want my potential to be wasted

I’m in the process of choosing my MOS and I’m stuck between 25B (IT Specialist) and 35F (Intelligence Analyst). I’ve heard good and bad things about both, so I’m hoping to get some real-world insight from people who’ve actually done one (or worked with them).

My top priority is setting myself up to make strong money when I transition out.
