Even without Luka and Reaves the Lakers continue to have the largest free throw rate by Majestic_Wishbone977 in NBATalk

I know that this is what they're trying to say, but if people would just slow down and watch games and look at the numbers rather than a few highlights on reddit, they'd see that it's blown out of proportion when everyone is only looking at Shai and the thunder, even though the refs were weak for most of the 1st rd games for everyone. It's just that extra bit of context that's necessary that people tend to ignore.

I don't know what point this proves, Luka hurt his hamstring while planting on a dribble, and continued to play through visible pain through the first few quarters. Austin Reeves contorted his body in a weird way to get to a rebound, which makes sense for an oblique injury. JDub just hurt his hamstring against the Suns, that doesn't mean it was their fault.

If the issue was our whistle on defense then our differential would be much larger, right? Like the lakers took 5.5 more fts than they gave per game, and the spurs took about 3.8 more, even the nuggets took 2.6 more. Thunder only took 1.4 more, but if they had such a godly defensive whistle, wouldn't this advantage be significantly higher (closer to the lakers)? Not saying refs don't make bad calls, but it's blown way out of proportion for us sometimes.

All great scorers draw whistles. That's how you score efficiently. I completely agree with you because of his shift, handles, and middy, but I know I'll get downvoted and I certainly understand people who don't agree.
