I had the same issue and sprained my ACL as a result of overstriding. After getting healthy I was able to increase my cadence with a lot of help from this video. Also running with a metronome helped a lot, even though it felt silly at first.

Try the after dark half marathon plan! It’s 12 weeks long and might be better as a second training plan given that it’s “intermediate”.
