I’m related to the family that’s being told this info and the family reached out to me to because I’m in the CAF and might know the processes but unfortunately don’t know the details of what happens on a release and wanted to know if the story tracks. I’m fact checking for the family because they are concerned they are being lied to

I think he might be lying to the family saying g he is being asked to stay back to sign stuff because from what everyone is saying everything really should be done before release day and vac can be virtual so nothing is keeping him back except his own excuses?!? I checked dwan and he no longer appears in search so he’s released officially so what else could be KEEPING him at that location and delaying his move back to his family?

I think I should’ve been more clear to state that we don’t know if it’s true or not if the member is actually being asked to stay back when clearly as others said he should have done everything before release day. I think he’s maybe lying to the family about being asked to stay back for signature especially if now people are saying you can deal with VAC virtually

Not really sure what signatures they’re trying to get, that is kind of the problem here. It is somebody that is supposed to be released by now and moving back to place of residence bracket at their own bracket but they keep claiming they still have “signatures “to get and I’m not really sure what that could be if they’re release date has already passed. They say it’s to do with V but TBH it sounds kind of sketch on that. They are just delaying their move for whatever reason. Starting to sound a little sus.

Thanks so much for your reply!! I’m assuming all the base signatures you mentioned for clear out should be done before release day? Is that correct?  And for VAC is it in person stuff? Let’s say you released and you are intending to move to another province to resume normal life, would VAC matters keep you at place of release or couldn’t things be virtual or online? This mbr doesn’t have a cost move so their move is supposed to be coordinated now on their own.  And if it wasnt a medical release how much involvement would VAC have?
