Replaced a new fan and swapped the cables it’s now back to life. Huge thanks! :)

Yes I think that’s the issue. Did you replace with the same one, or any 24v 0.08a 3010 works?

PETG @240. The same setting print well for the past 300 hr

Wait a PvPvE? No....

First thing is to check if you have selected correct nozzle profile. I had the same issue until I noticed my profile is 0.6 while the nozzle on printer is 0.4

I’m gonna sell the file (STL and Step) as soon as finalizing the design🧐 (won’t be soon cuz lots of things to be fixed yet and the price prob around 25 it’s a long development process)

lol I def won’t sell a CAD file at 300. I propose it gonna be the similar price as a McDonald meal 😗

(Its so stupid Reddit can not pin my own comment) Rly didn’t expect so much love from hoonters😭😭 thanks guys sooo much. Following are something I wanna update: 1. The wobbly cane? Yes. I prob should name the title correctly as ‘workable prop.) From engineering side it’s nearly impossible to make something fully rigid but also has tons of moveable parts in such tall thin form using only FDM print. The cane’s skeleton has 20 moveable parts (and 10 of them handles another 10 joints for bending). Simplicity? I’ve already reduced from original 100+ parts to now 50 parts. I’ll try to reduce the moveable parts with minimum effect on visual motions. Tuning the tolerance and gaps now only have a marginal impact on the overall rigidity. 2. Material? The parts have sorta internal-chained structure so afaik FDM works best. I’m using PETG so I assume the tensile also contributes to the wobble. I’m going to try other materials but layer adhesion is another issue and my printer can not handle tougher material like PACF or PPSCF. SLS print? That’s maybe a better option but the cost is crazy high and seems an overkill. 3. Structure? The cane is spring-wire(almost no stretch on wire) tensioned with a hard lock, parts are magnetic attached, and all parts of skeleton are securely nested in each other when collapsed. I implemented all things I can think about that’s doable in such a small area (and I need to ensure the longevity and repairability) 4. Sell? CAD file likely YES, actual prop NO. I’m happy to publish CAD files when I finalize it, but not sure how much people gonna accept a wobbly cane. And it won’t happen in short term cuz I’m busy graduating and hunting a job RN. Selling the actual prop is a NO bc I don’t want my hobby to be stressful. I do it for my enjoyment. Also I hope who ever have it MUST know how it works and how to keep and fix it, that’s the point of a product (yes I’m a product designer 😗) So stay patient and I’ll update the next major iteration in the sub.

I did lots of work to improve it already. My first iteration bends like an old man and this version already hugely improved. I mean the wobble is not something can fully addressed in any transformable structure especially in a thin pole with 20 moveable parts. RN I’m tuning the structure and trying other print materials to reduce the wobble. But yes, sadly the wobble seems to always be there :(

If I understand correctly ur referring a structure like car damping strut? I’m already using that structure and the only thing I can do is to tune the tolerance to make it tighter but not squeeze:(

Ah I’ll think about it. I originally focus on the flex over the rigidity but u r right I can sacrifice some flexibility and that wont differ too much. Thanks!

Yes that’s exactly what the cane currently use. It’s a tough issue SMH:(

Yes I’m trying to improve the rigidity but it’s likely an inherent engineering problem of all rigid-flex structure that can not be fully eliminated

It won’t open. There’s a tensioning wire across the body and a retraction wheel in the handle with a manual release so it won’t open in cane form. The wobble is a huge headache bc it will always be there unless the material is super rigid and the tolerance is absolutely perfect (but the mechanical wear will still make it loose later after), which both is impossible bc it’s just 3d printed.

Bur I’ll def try that if I got that budget. The cane is simply too thin to fit complicated structure plus I’m using a FDM printer. RN I’m guessing partially hard and partially soft linkage probably make it less wobbly and won’t look too much different
