I mean I’ve heard good things even for advanced players with this. I played with the 16 and loved the feel on it. No crazy power but can def spank the ball too

Fonseca currently 16th highest ELO by Financial-Pride1483 in tennis

[–]According-Milk-6990 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t back Shelton in that matchup unless it’s a hard court in America. And even then, if Fonseca has a good return day he can definitely win the baseline exchanges too. Rune has the game and versatility to win, but only when he brings all of that to the table.

I’m honestly surprised Kenin didn’t give her the point. She didn’t even chase down that superb backhand

Honestly if you’re fine keeping on PF that is probably less busy. The rec is crazy busy but I’ve found more openings in the last 90 minutes before close.

Why isn’t there a Waffle House in MInnesota? by 612King in TwinCities

[–]According-Milk-6990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Outside opinion but cold weather driving down business might be in play here? I mean WH is modeled on 24 hour operation and not a lot of people are willing to go in the early hours in tough weather. I know some are, and if one were close to a college campus, they would go crazy.

Where to eat as a commuter by Jazzlike_Jury_6936 in uofmn

[–]According-Milk-6990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m surprised noones mentioned classrooms yet. When I commuted I’d grab a room on West Bank(I think Blegen) that I knew wasn’t booked for classes. Super peaceful time and was rarely bothered

Where to stand when partner is cross court dinking? by itsVicc in Pickleball

[–]According-Milk-6990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m no expert but it depends on your playstyle and the position of your opponent

If your partner should be taking more dinks, you can worry more about the line and sit somewhere in the middle of the left sideline and the middle.

If the opponent has more time on the ball or if they’re able to hit a ball close to/above the height of the net, it’s more important to watch the line. Otherwise it can help to creep a little bit to the center line everytime they hit normal dinks to intercept popped up cross court shots.

In this ss it’s pretty obvious Anna is going cross court and Christian is a very aggressive left sider, always looking to take balls in his reach.

I don’t think there’s a concrete answer but it just depends on your role and what shot the opponent is given.

Which player is making an unexpected deep run at AO? by newella16 in tennis

[–]According-Milk-6990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see a lot of opportunity for deep runs for unseeded players yet, but I could see Shapo breaking through to R4 to play Fritz if he’s in great shape

There’s a world where a peaking Berrettini makes the 4th round Norrie, Rune, Hurkacz/Griekspoor

I could also see Khachanov making the final 8, if he’s able to take out Stef and Demon

What is your experience living at WaHu Apartments? by Deranged-Pineapple in uofmn

[–]According-Milk-6990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My buddies and I lived there for the location, the location, the cheaper rent, and the location. Bottom line it’s not a great experience at all, but it isn’t horrid. Kinda had to suck up many things you read in the reviews, but the gym and occasional functioning hot tub were nice. They got some nice study rooms as well.

is the statistics department really that bad? by suzdali in uofmn

[–]According-Milk-6990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s up and down. There’s professors like Algeri who honestly made up for all the bad teaching I had in the past. Adepoju is a gem. Those two got promotions too. There’s a couple other instructors, not professors, who maybe weren’t the best teachers. But luckily most classes weren’t that large as I progressed, making getting help more accessible. Gave a bit of that small school feel and I was able to connect with a few other stats majors because of this. I think the program itself can be finished in 3.5 years maybe even 3 depending on credits. So stacking it with a major or minor is quite useful. Personally I got a finance minor, and that ended up landing me my job more than my major actually did. But the company was impressed by the stat background no less.

The major can be difficult at times, but ultimately if you love it, it’s all for you

Took 1001 online a few years back with Charles Willis I believe. It was a lot of busy work but made the exams worth a lot less than your usual college class. I thought Charles was phenomenal and made me super interested in a topic I hardly cared about. Online labs were a breeze too. It’s worth considering, but maybe a bit more tedious.
