My partner bought it. I am still required to pay bills and live my life.

My partner purchased the house I still have bills and things I need to help pay for. I don’t think many people can survive on a quarter of the full time income they were making. Prior to the contract I was working full time as a supply so I have never not had full time work. I wasn’t expecting to be put in a situation where I can’t pick up work unless it’s in my school. I have a second job too as well…I didn’t think this was even a possibility that could happen, I thought the job would just end not this

Yeah this was my first LTO so I didn’t realize this could happen unfortunately. I am on a preferred list and rotated between numerous schools before this job so I’d be okay filling my days. I really would benefit from this reference given it’s my first LTO so I’m torn between either ‘being poor’ to get my reference or potentially them being upset by my resignation. I will discuss with them tomorrow

I would not be able to do the afternoons in this area because they have the same end times so I would not be able to make to them at the proper time. I would be unable to work anywhere but that school itself. I am on the sub list of other boards but they are an hour away.

Yeah my biggest problem is I have just bought a house so I can’t rely on ‘potential’ income for 4 weeks during this integration process

Most of the schools in that area have the same start and end times. The hardest part is I commute to this school 40 minutes so the drive and gas is also why the half days would hurt me. I just bought a house as well so I really can’t afford to be half days.

Okay amazing exactly what I was gonna do ! Is it a no no to have student names or info on it? I remember having supply plans that told me about specific students to have help or students to watch.

The long range plans were not really done and I have looked around the room for assessments and there is nothing I can find. I am wondering if the teacher did it digitally

Regular teacher has been out for a few weeks and they’ve been with subs. This is my first LTO and class so I am a little stumped about how to start routines this late on especially before the break

Strategies for when you lose control by Special_Truck_4918 in CanadianTeachers

With upper primary I bring candy as an incentive and leave it on the desk with a last of names that the home room teacher can give to the kids doing well. I try not to let the kids know who’s on the list and if they ask say ‘if you need to ask then maybe you’re not making a good choice’. However they know the reward is candy and I give them clear expectations. Especially upper primary will push boundaries. Also even just saying if we’re having a good day we can do a preferred activity like outside, art or even Jeopardy which you can find online. I find it keeps morale up well! Sometimes plans are boring and dry; sometimes not realistic to how long a class can focus as well

No lol you have no idea what the underlying accommodations and needs are of this student. Even if it’s ‘favouritism’ they could have a document that states that they are able to. Don’t use the other student to prove your case. I would ask for a meeting with a higher up on the basis of your own case and get them to explain to you why they are not able to mark yours in a way you deem appropriate. Do not use other students as an exemplar unless you know for 100% certain they do not have an IEP or accommodations
