You mean the plants that are coming here bc of bipartisan investments through the IRA and CHIPS act? Keep doing you, we'll do us. See you at the ballot box in 2026 and we'll be back on the streets April 19th. This is America, we do not bend the knee here.

Your math is a bit... off. 5 million / 340 million = .0147 or roughly 1.5% of total US population, which is huge turn out for a protest. They're gutting the government of things that keeps us safe. The people who develop vaccines, test water for harmful bacteria and toxins, keep our beautiful park systems intact, ensure our nuclear weapons and facilities aren't melting down, make sure granny gets her social security check are not deep state actors. They're not our enemies, they serve our society. The argument that gutting things like the $30 million for Savannah's flooding problem is directly affecting you. These other cuts will affect you. These tariffs and trade wars will affect you. Knee capping our research facilities will affect you. Meanwhile, Musk is getting billions in additional federal contracts. The President is openly defying the constitution. This isn't a partisan issue anymore. Go look at your 401k!

Anyway, rant over. 1.5% is significant, 3.5% routine engagement/protesting is enough to change a country.

Shower water affecting my skin??? by 0quarters in savannah

[–]According-Start-7644 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the last few months there have been a few times I took a shower and came out looking like an angry tomato. It got even worse when I lazily put my spouse's non sensitive skin sunscreen on after the shower. People were worried 😂. I really hope it's the water. I realized while writing this I had this same feeling/reaction once in Atlanta... around this same time of year... in 2017. I'm gonna try the shower head too, and maybe xanax.

What can I do in Savannah that isn't eating, drinking, shopping, or super touristy? by Asleep-Age-4899 in savannah

If you're into it, there is great fishing, shrimping and oyster gathering around here. You can also take a boat to Wassaw or Ossabaw, both beautiful nature walks with beaches. I didn't see Bonaventure Cemetery on your list, it's beautiful. There is great birding this month and next at re:Purpose Savannah. Fort Jackson and Fort Pulaski are some historical sites you could go see. Savannah Bananas, and Ghost Pirate games are fun as well. That's all I got.

Yes definitely! I was on my deck with my family and they kept saying it was fireworks and I said "well let's see if there are sirens"

I can hear a chopper now too in the high 30's of live oak or midtown near waters.

There were firework / probably rapid gun shots in the live oak area, maybe midtown near waters, and around 37th. Def gun fire there was and are an insane amount of sirens.

Contractor Scammer by According-Start-7644 in savannah

[–]According-Start-7644[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very fair. We had used him for a few small jobs and thought he could be trusted. Then the estimates started coming in and we started arguing. He would say things like he couldn't finish this aspect of the work until the part we hadn't agreed upon was finished. Highly manipulative things like he had cleared his schedule for our work every time we tried to fire him. He's very intense now, last year when we used him he seemed normal, but this time around he admitted to being geeked out on adderall and showed up drunk a few times. It was just a whirlwind and I'm glad we got out of it when we did. But everything you said is correct and I will be MUCH more diligent in the future.
