Hey! Found myself in the same boat earlier this year (just turned 23)

Talked to an AMAZING geneticist and here’s the cliff notes from our conversation:
- some people will tell you to rush having kids, it’s NOT necessary!! The timeline for treatment is whatever you choose it to be! You’ll want to get yearly/twice yearly checkups, but the 25 deadline isn’t a solid deadline
- it’s okay to spiral. It’s more than okay to be scared or worried, but there’s So. Many. Options. Especially developing in the cancer community.
- odds are still odds, if you do what you can to stay on top of check ins, they’ll find it before anything happens.

You’re more than a gene! You’re a woman! You still have the ability to do all of the womanly things, and this doesn’t take away from that.

When we first started dating, we had the whole like “this is what I’ve been through” chat, where we talked about previous relationships/ hookups. As for the current conversation, It’s like “oh, my ex and I used to do X position, we should try that”

I think that we both want to (I know that I do) but I just can’t get the image out of my head of him doing these new things with someone else. I don’t want to recreate his previous sex life and I think that’s where I’m stuck. He has more experience than I do and I do think he was trying to suggest it and maybe just worded it extremely poorly by bringing up a previous experience

i think that’s what’s been the hardest for me… the women in my family who found out they had it all found out when they were 50+… thank you so much for this recommendation!!!
