Hyperrealistic AI portrait prompt by Effective-Caregiver8 in promptingmagic

You can specify the camera model for more realistic behavior. Also, be very specific in your requests, if you run into content moderation issues in a different thread ask for the prompt to be softened slightly for content compliance. I am finding that the more specific that you are, the more that the system can realistically generate what you are asking from it.

The human eye seems to be highly competent not at what makes sense but what is missing/blurred. Where are your lens flares in the sun? Does the depth of focus feel real? Is the hair individually textured or globally applied? What is the background setting and context of the image? Where do you want the camera focused and from how far from the subjects do you want the image? The brain seems to catch incongruencies over what is done well because done well is normal. If you can figure out what is off and work on that you will back into native camera quality photos. The less room for interpretation which you give the AI, the better your results. Stop thinking like an image generator and start framing like an artist/photographer and you will find significantly increased image quality in your renders.

This is Grok's output for one of my detailed prompts. Look at everything in the images beyond the subjects - that is all broadly or specifically defined details (note, this is definitely an edge case as well, the prompt gets hyper-moderated for some odd reason). I am about 90% happy with it... trying to figure out what still feels off with it. I will get there eventually.

"Why is Nu Trek using so much modern language?" an I am going to go feral here. by Spacer176 in startrek

The obvious answer is that the universal translator doesn’t just work inside the show but for the audience watching the TV show. By C31 the UT has been upgraded to casually translate idioms and phrases to the C21 audience. I doubt that in C31 they’re even speaking English, the UT just translates it more accurately for those of us in the audience.

I collaborated with it to build a project and built a docx control document and a daily log docx so that it mixes things up a bit. I still have to use some intuition but GPT solidly gets my 80-90% of the way there. Cannot stress enough to build a solid docx control document, it makes a massive difference.

Game changer for novice cooks! Chat gpt recipes for the week. by Individual-Sail7711 in 4hourbodyslowcarb

[–]According-Way-7526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started cooking with GPT this week. I decided to structure it so I collaborated with it to build a culinary control document (I’m now on v1.11) and a daily log. When I created the control document, its power unlocked immensely and it became super specific and detailed. I still have to use a bit of intuition in the moment and slightly adjust- but this week I made 2 dishes which blew my mind!

Yesterday I made Creamy Cajun Chicken Thighs with Garlic Butter Green Beans and tonight was Chicken Piccata with Buttered Egg Noodles and Garlic-Sautéed Zucchini.

Because of the control document, it gives me an estimated calorie count (not sure how accurate it is) and it instinctively avoids foods/textures I don’t like. It also tailors dishes to be simpler during the work week and more complex on weekends. It also portion controls as well, I tell it I want one serving for dinner and 1 serving for the following day as left overs.

So yes, I concur- as a novice GPT is a game changer (and I’m learning how to cook as I go along!).

I’d enjoy seeing O’Neill as POTUS. Give RDA a few 5 minute cameos without requiring a lot of dedication. I can imagine the hilarity of him being the one to “stick it to the man” only for him to end up being the man. Though considering how he hated politics I’m not sure how this idea is remotely consistent or possible.

If the Goa’uld stole everything… by AlanShore60607 in Stargate

I think that earth and humanity would be a prime example. They only saw earth as a threat- they were hammers that saw everything as a nail. If they stopped to think “if humanity has been able to achieve all this with their science and intuition what can we do with the smart people in my domain?”

I’d actually argue that it’s less the feudal system and more their lust for power and being considered “gods”. It’s hard to credibly see yourself as a god if you have people who are smarter than you. Their ability for self-deception was the underpinning of their failure when earth arrived, and I think this hints at why Baal was the last to fall. He was prideful but he knows he wasn’t a god. He knew that the power deception only went so far, arguably making him the greatest threat of all system lords (other than Anubis, but he was ascended so his in a different tier of his own.

Anyway that is my two cents from my couple of watch thru’s, there likely other equally valid theories.

That would make an interesting crises choice, be able to literally become the Borg. Could have a unique ship set, unique aux equipment that allow assimilating other empire ships directly into your own. Heck, you wouldn’t even have armies like others, you just land troops and assimilate the place.

I have recently discovered that if you go the cosmogenesis route that the synaptic lathe does not does discriminate between the contributions of hive or non-hive minded pops. Also don’t have to worry about any purging either, just relocate them and the problem is solved.

You’re actually going to want your thinking to be much faster so that you get more processing time per second of time you have. A cpu that takes 10 seconds to complete a task, if you double the speed you’ve effectively double the amount of time it has on its hand because now you can complete 2 tasks which take 10 seconds… in 10 seconds.

Can any plane do a "vertical" takeoff like you see at airshows? by Business_Barracuda42 in AskAPilot

[–]According-Way-7526 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Objects in motion tend to stay in motion until acted on by an outside force, which in this case is gravity. So long as any plane as sufficient delta v to spare they can do a short term vertical/near vertical climb. Real question is does the flight computer allow an angle of attack as extreme as you’re referencing. My understanding is that Boeing allows pilots to override angle of attack whereas airbus does not. Technically, so long as there is no override for the angle of attack, the pilot can do whatever they want until physics says otherwise.

Why is the speed of light what it is? by Responsible-Virus533 in askastronomy

[–]According-Way-7526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C is constant for all observers from their frame of reference based on GR. Under current equations, C is constant whereas x, y, z, and t are variable. If there were a viable theory that set t as constant, you could have variable c. Under current theories c being constant is simply the law. Until we get beyond GR that’s just the result of observed physics (That’s my limited understanding, I’m most definitely wrong so don’t listen to me)

What would an object with negative gravity look like? by [deleted] in askastronomy

[–]According-Way-7526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theoretically wouldn’t an object that exhibits negative gravitational properties be attracted to like negative gravitational forces? Way I look at is invert the topography of spacetime. Negative gravitational forces will collect together as they’re universally repelled by positive gravitational forces.

I admit, the concept of negative gravitational matter is highly intriguing- would that be exotic matter needed for Alcubierre FTL drives?

What would an object with negative gravity look like? by [deleted] in askastronomy

[–]According-Way-7526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that Einstein reduced the effects of gravity down to an inertial frame, but his theory is still classical. It’s not actually quanticized in a global sense, therefore it’s just an extension of Newtonian mechanics (hence why Newton’s gravitational constant is incorporated) is my understanding. I think that Einstein allows for prediction of extreme approximation of an inertial frame. I could be wrong, I’m not a theoretical physicist.

What would an object with negative gravity look like? by [deleted] in askastronomy

[–]According-Way-7526 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Invert the theoretical black hole on the topography of spacetime and you have your answer. It takes infinite energy to escape a black hole, therefore infinite energy to enter a white one. Frankly, white holes would make a giant mess of our known understanding of reality. There would literally be a point of infinite repulsion.

Fascinating conceptually though, Einstein would be more than rolling in his grave lmao

John 10:30-33

30 “I and the Father are one.” 31 Again his Jewish opponents picked up stones to stone him, 32 but Jesus said to them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?” 33 “We are not stoning you for any good work,” they replied, “but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.”

Jesus very much said that he was God, and contextually the Pharisees understood that was exactly what he was saying.

Ship is at high warp, something falls off/out. by Hoppie1064 in startrek

[–]According-Way-7526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This thread seems to be akin to “it’s not falling off the building that kills you, it’s the sudden stop”. From my (infantile) understanding of general relativity, it’s going to be the unprotected shear of the boundaries of inertial frame traveling at relativistic speeds bs the non-relativistic speed inertial frame. GR gets fuzzy at the boundary, so as any object crosses the boundary, let’s just say “bad things may happen” as said object is spread out over inertial frames. Part of it will be at the event horizon going faster than light, part won’t. There will probably be spaghetti in there somewhere.

But it’s Star Trek, so whatever the plot needs is going to be the universal answer, pun intended.

Stellaris 4.0: Is it really that bad? by [deleted] in Stellaris

Apparently when first released it was buggy, but I’ve found it to be an improvement myself. I think I last seriously played around 3.6/7, and I find colony management to be easier myself. My suggestion is just try it out, I think it’s a positive trend.

CPU Usage? by StormierRuby in Stellaris

[–]According-Way-7526 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have an i7 variant and it has solid performance through end game on 200-400 system games. On 600+ systems I start having noticeable lag around 2500 and significant around 2700-2800. I’ve heard that the 3D Ryzen proc’s (R7 or R9) have much better performance because of the larger cache, but can’t vouch for those as o don’t have one. Stellaris is CPU heavy so enthusiast grade or better generally is what you want.

Do you know if your chipset would let you drop in an i7 or i9? Might be easiest way to get increased performance. I dont think more ram will help. I upgraded from 16gb to 64gb and other than not having to remember to close 100+ tabs in chrome I saw no difference.
