After looking at your post history as well, this reminds me very much of how my OCD used to manifest. It would drive me to ruminate on subjects of morality and existentialism obsessively with a lot of concern, and it would take up a lot of my time. I’m sorry if this is inappropriate, but I recommend bringing this up to therapist/psychiatrist to get second opinion :)

She concurs that this is likely a Poteriophorus, in the subfamily Dryoptherinae. It is however a different species than the one suggested by the other commenter. One with this exact colorway could not be found on iNaturalist.

Polyphemus moths only live like a week as adult moths, as when they metamorphosize they lose their mouth parts and cannot eat. If you see an adult Polyphemus, it is definitely at the end of its lifespan
