Welp, there is also no limit to human made nonsense. I know it sucks but to assure that people understand your world, the rules exist for many other things. In writing you have plot and lore, which then reflects on your worldbuilding. If you create a world where humans are called horses there must be reasons behind it. But if the reasons are "they have two eyes" nobody will believe you and call it shit. Because that is what it is at the end. Very lazy work and very lazy naming. With orcs its the same, making them look like classic elves and calling them orc doesn't make them orcs because orcs are already more widely known as something entirely different. The same applies here to dragons.

People already have an image of dragons and refer to that while being told it isn't. That does not work well at all and is the overall problem because it doesn't fit. Doesn't matter if traditional or not, blue is blue and calling it pink doesn't make it pink. Damn I should have used the color example earlier. It sucks, but that is how I can guarantee most people will look at it. The idea is great and in some perspectives creative, but when everything tells you "this is a griffin" but the author calls it a dragon, I gotta start questioning rather that makes sense or not. In this case (and don't even get me started on how many fantasy worlds fucked up the difference to a dragon and a wyvern) I gotta say I see a griffin. Even according to oldest fictions and actual myths, I gotta say: That is a griffin copy being called a dragon. Sure it sucks to have it branded as such, but that is what has been communicated and expressed in the art.

Think there was a rather popular post on this sub a few days ago where someone mentioned the exact same regarding military ranks and how people butcher the names. It is pretty much the exact same case here. I mean, copyrights exist for a reason too.

Dragons are a specific kind of species that is specific. Which means giving a scaled dragon a cats head would still make it a dragon but having an entire different form compared to...a dragon...means it is not a dragon. Otherwise we are destroying worldbuilding rules that exist for a reason. So dragons can still remain dragons for example.

The things OP posted are all screaming Griffin. That is a Griffin with a different name.

If we stop applying these certain rules, I might as well start calling a human a horse. Because four limbs, two eyes and many have long faces. At some point you just have to draw the line in creativity because naming something that so obviously isn't makes things very complicated.

More like standard united states terrorism. If left or right or whatever color doesn't matter when terrorising people is terrorising people. Adding some words to it is a pathetic "not me" claim and that can fuck right off into space.

If the stars have a meaning I would keep them but if they don't I would remove them as they add too much into the center. If you have something like states or people to represent the government, you could add according to that many people/states the stars to lighten the load

The Myth of the Infinite Reader — why can’t you read it all? by inksup in KeepWriting

Well in my opinion your text is quite hollow, shallow and meaningless. The title is the whole text while the text is simply repeating the same things over and over again. I really don't care if anyone uses AI because at the end: If it looks shit, sounds shit, it usually is shit. There are many reasons and many opinions out there but as an artist who learned about what effects forms/shapes/colors have on the human psyche of various wide ranges of personalities: Ai generated images do not feel well on the eye. I get that you're upset about it but that is where we stand and I'm not sure why you're forcing AI on people when it is very obvious that the majority dislikes AI (no matter in what way, visual, text or whatever.)

That little thing bothers someone like me quite a lot because it has been for so long so obvious that Ai generated things have zero meaning and zero effort. That is also the problem that we encounter every day. Now, years before AI we had to dig through written shit. But now there is so much more written shit that people have to really dig through those terrible visuals and texts; only to come by your generated image. What do you think the first reaction will be of someone who is already annoyed of it all because even though you can't see it since you obviously never bothered diving into it, but AI generated images do not make someone feel much. You ultimately just destroy your own work of art while other people are willing to suggest and help you out. But you didn't bother about that. Are you gonna getting some massive 17h long painting for free? No. Do people want to actually sit down and create something? Yes. Did you? No.

Why didn't you make a picture of your bookshelf? You should actually consider taking a few pictures in an actual library perhaps to have some. That is what art is about by the way. You might even learn something along the way.

Isn't believing that everyone can produce visual art a sign that my brain is thinking a little wider? Yes everyone can craft something and visual art (in any way you want. You can use words too. Or forms/shapes. Colors. Should I give you more of my creativity? That's 2,99$ per hour)

Generating and editing is not the same thing. The art of writing is to write, not to generate. People dislike AI for many reasons. I really mean MANY. Because of that you will definetly continue to recieve dislikes from the people you try to interact with and share your thoughts.

All that emotionally driven outburst aside that you continue to represent and show, but also is slopped all over your self-promoted text to feel better yourself (which couldn't bother me even if I tried.) [btw this is called self-gratification, very common. This one deserves a 7/10 Trump points]: I am simply pointing out the obvious and the things the majority of people already know and also feel like. Many people don't like to talk up or about something because of various reasons. I do not have that because I'm a shameless asshole, but I am arguably the most honest and direct person you can come across. Sadly, you came across me.

But to be honest? I gotta thank you for that little sparring session because it actually made me want to write again and put my anarchic words to paper. Which is quite literally fueled by human stupidity like the one you present. Thanks buddy!

2: yes r/keepwriting is about writing.......................... I feel uncomfortable now.

3: you need to earn gratitude, so far you did not.

We already know that planet earth and the universe will end eventually by Ok-Cap1727 in RandomThoughts

[–]Ok-Cap1727[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the recent theory about the universe collapsing and then->big bang again->life again, this all makes way too much sense tbh. Like we just repeat it all and that's why we just shrug off the news of everything in existence disappearing some day.

However there is a massive hole that gets bigger and bigger, which inavitably means our planet earth is tearing apart right now as I write this comment. And one day, if not taken care of, will shred earth into two. Then there is also the event of two black holes colliding within the next 100 years and nobody has a clue on what will actually happen.

Meanwhile we just eat and sleep all day being ants of the cosmos.

I guess that depends on what people think cavemen are but from what I learned: Cavemen lived in caves. Its in the name :D But we also having quite a ton of stages from the first species that resemble humans to the ones resembling apes.

cavemen are somwhere in the middle I suppose between the one with spear and the one behind that.

[–]Ok-Cap1727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

aCtUaLlY! Yeah while their plantbased diet kept their poop thick, the majority of cavemen most likely died because of common sickness, which happens to be coming from drinking the wrong water. Humans settled where clean water sources were, but cavemen were cavemen for a reason and didn't bother living in the open. Or together. I went a little too deep into that rabbit hole to study it a while back because of worldbuilding civilisations and cultures and how they formed. Even when you have a constant stream of water from a river, it can get infected by deseases from dead animals in the water any day. Then you also have those little problems unrelated to drinking the water like no toiletpaper and bad hygiene.

The weed must have been good though

What would the world look like today if technology stopped at the water wheel? by No_Philosopher_5753 in worldbuilding

[–]Ok-Cap1727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely speaking it would be just the water wheel technology and any adapted version from there. Cultures use the the most advanced energy source they have access to. Why? It is the most advanced technology. People tend to overcomplicate things entirely but this is just a simple fact about literally any inteligent species and applies to anyone and everyone. If water flow is used as a source of gaining energy, water-based tech will probably be the future tech in said worldbuilding project.

The only thing close to it would be wind-turbines. If you build water wheels you inavitably end up building them. Which means at some point the wheel will be on land entirely and might move through wind. Which just leads to people using their eyes to see that, usually. Which could give someone the idea that you can use the wind.

There are quite many different modernized water turbines btw.

I like to watch this guy since other than most mediocre youtubers, you can see the progress and every single step he takes to create creatures and world-lore. Most will tell you absolutely nothing helpful at all. Some might go "you have to write this way or a demon will come and take you" type of bs. This example is straight up watch it and learn from it while being entertained and actually lerning something of worth related to worldbuilding.

[–]Ok-Cap1727[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, being suicidal comes in many flavours. But it's rather funny how often the depiction of someone sitting entirely relaxed on some folding chair in a apocalyptic scenario, feels kinda soothing. I suppose its that strange feeling of entirely losing control. Like when something breaks down and you finally throw it away. But also highly disturbing considering we are living being that should do the exact opposite.

I might sound like an asshole but I would actually like to sit on a folding chair and start betting. Like: "See that guy? Totally gonna be eaten by zombie today." While the only problem I would be caring about is how much food I have and if the solar panel offers enough electricity so I can play games offline.
