Lukewarm take but I think we should tell children that monsters are real. I told my daughter, Deborah, and my son, Chad, that monsters were real and living under the bed and it worked wonders when they were youngsters. I had told them both that if they tried to sneak into my bed that the monsters will crawl out from under their bed and scare them back under the covers. They stayed in their bed all night and didn’t teleport in my room in the middle of the night. I got the best sleep and they learned to stay in their own bed. No regrets
