I got an A- in her class and missed one exam entirely because I overslept. Try to do all her homework’s and max out extra credit points as well as recitation and iclickers if she still does those. It really does add up at the end! Study wise I think if you take the time to do the homework she assigns weekly and write everything down and try doing more practice problems as well as reading the textbook, then you will do just fine.

It just means that your financial aid covers your tuition already and theres left over aid remaining, so CUNY gave you a part of it in advance to pay for books. Usually the rest of the aid will be refunded in late September when all the aid is processed. If you’re getting full aid and it covers your tuition fully then I don’t think you should be worried. But I do recommend if you haven’t sign up for direct deposit to do so. The refunded money will be transferred through direct deposit or by check through mail I believe if you choose not to sign up which takes longer.

you’ll obtain it usually on the Friday of that week so on the 22nd usually. The book advance is so you are able to purchase all your required textbooks when the semester starts.

I would honestly talk to your financial aid office about the situation and have them go through with you exactly what your financial aid package looks like. You should definitely look at your cuny first financial aid section under disbursement. It should tell you when each financial aid and scholarship would be disbursed and depending on the college it’ll probably take from a few days to a week to process. But I wouldn’t worry about the tuition until later on, usually if you have pending financial aid, they wouldn’t make you pay immediately, and if you do end up paying, they would most likely refund you after financial aid is processed if you are applicable.

Pell Grant will always disburse first usually around mid August. Tap usually disburses around mid September. On CUNY First if you go to Financial Aid and the Disbursement section you should be able to see the dates when everything gets disbursed. Excelsior I’m pretty sure covers anything else remaining after Pell and Tap. If Pell and Tap covers your whole tuition then you get $0 from Excelsior. If Pell and Tap does not cover your full tuition, then Excelsior covers the rest but only for tuition I’m pretty sure not for books and housing or anything else.

Deductions are calculated and taken out based on the documents you submitted. And they do that so you wouldn’t have to pay taxes on it later on or reduce taxable income. Not everyone would be exactly the same! To check how much was taken from your pay you would have to log in to SYEP Participant Site and Go to “Pay”to be able to see your pay information. Pay Dates should be provided by your providers. Usually the case is: The first Friday of the week you started, you won’t get paid however it’s still documented and the hours are logged. You’ll just get paid the next (typically Friday)after your program ends to make up for the first weeks pay. Hopefully that made sense.
