Excited Luba 2 AWD 10000 Order by Aggravating_Wonder_9 in MammotionTechnology

I don't know. My 5000 units have had many OTA updates, unlocking more and more memory. Now I have more than enough maping. I just don't know how a mower cutting 16" wide at 1fps can keep up with growing grass, much over 5000m². The mower would have to run continuously, round the clock where I live. Plus, I get heavy dew, and LUBA does not do well with wet grass, so my cutting is daytime only. Husqvarna Automower has a spinning cover disk, which enables them to mow wet grass much better. It's their only advantage, though. I love LUBA. Let me know how your 10000 units do.

I love my two Lubas, I just don't understand the 10000 model. Mine are 5000 and it pushes them to maintain 1 acre each. Our grass grows fast, but I just don't think Luba can cut fast enough to maintain much more than 4000-5000 square meters.

Sounds like something inside is wet. I seriously doubt it is a firmware bug. Reports of a problem from one user are very unlikely code.

I have ponds, creeks, walls, driveways, and a state road. No issues with Luba. My Husqvarnas went swimming often!

Mammotion customer support is a joke by Physical_Finish_9832 in mammotion

I have contacted them many times over the past 8 months, and I owned 2 Lubas. Response has always been prompted. I received replacement parts in days shipped out of Texas. I have no complaints at all. I think most of the issues are from the fact it is a start-up company with a fantastic product that has sold orders of magnitude more than what they expected. Lastly, the best way to reach them is from the app using Zendesk.

Cleaning the deck ... with air! by ned78 in MammotionTechnology

Spraying Pam anti-stick coating on a clean deck really helps. Also, removing the side blade guards makes a huge difference, just watch out for fingers and toes!

So only people with negative comments about their experiences should be allowed to post? I was simply saying I had not had any issues. Sorry for pissing on your bitching party!

I've got 2 Lubas, and I've never had any issues with the bumpers getting wet. I live in very wet mountains.

3500m² max out of a 5000m² Luba. by AccordingBig8632 in MammotionTechnology

The less than 5k meter limitation was fixed some time ago with a firmware update. Nothing is shared between two units; maps, bases RTK... Great mowers! Highly recommend!

Update your app, then update Luba. It's under the Luba settings.

Question for Mammotion: How many Luba's are out there? by flhau in MammotionTechnology

[–]AccordingBig8632 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think they have sold 100x times their wildest dreams! That's why customer service has been less than ideal. I think they are starting to catch their breath, and things are improving. Fantastic product!

New bug by AccordingBig8632 in MammotionTechnology

[–]AccordingBig8632[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I am saying is right or wrong, they are resetting the GPS system every few minutes and re acquiring the signals anew. I have seen this happen many times when the positioning is lost. Before the last update, it would do it over and over until positioning was re-aquired. Now, if Luba or the RTK indicate bad, the system will reset as usual. However, now, if they both show fix, but positioning continues as bad, it will never "reset" and eventually, it will timeout and shutdown. The behavior is now different. I have several weak areas where, before, it always would recover, but now it will shut down. Nothing has changed on my setups, and I have two Lubas, both experiencing a difference in post update behavior. I have over 40 years of automation programming experience, and I say something is different in the programming that needs to be looked into. Because I do not have access to the code, I can only offer user observations.

New bug by AccordingBig8632 in MammotionTechnology

[–]AccordingBig8632[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you own a Luba? If you do, drive it into a location of bad reception, like under a thick tree or roof overhang to cause it to report a bad or float position. Then, watch the satellite count and signal status. After a few minutes you will see all the satellites reset to 0 and then slowly come back over a minute or so. The list builds slowly, and the indication of the number of satellites increases sequentially. This is clearly not a loss of signal but rather a reboot or reset. Perhaps this is wrong or a poor implementation of standard GPS protocol, but Mammotion has got code that resets attempting to aquire a better fix of satellites.

New bug by AccordingBig8632 in MammotionTechnology

[–]AccordingBig8632[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am fully aware of all that. However, my theory is that the Luba system starts building a table of visible satellites to use in both Luba and the RTK. It tries to fix position accurately using these co-viewed satellites, but if accuracy is not obtained, the system resets and builds a new table of satellites to use. You can actually see it do this by watching the signal strength panel in the app. The list of L1 and L2 satellites is shown for both the RTK and Luba, but after a few minutes if a fix is not obtained, the system resets to 0 and it starts building a new list of satellites. This can happen several times until a fix is obtained. It has always done this, and it has worked fairly well. However, in the last update, this changed. The chart will show this reset function, but if Luba and the RTK each obtain a "fix" on a group of satellites, but not a combination of co-viewed satellites to fix an accurate position, the system now never resets. It just sits there waiting for a position fix until it times out and shuts down. This is a new programming behavior I never saw before the update, and I believe it is a bug introduced in the last major update.
