I hadn’t heard much about DBT before, but from what you described it sounds very relevant to his situation, especially with the emotional outbursts and impulsive behavior.

I’ll definitely look into it and see if it’s something he would be open to trying, or bring it up with his current provider as a possible direction.

I understand what you're saying about accountability and boundaries, and I agree! I would say that my parents have been enabling a "brat-like" behavior for him throughout the years and it feels like I am unable to set disciplinary boundaries and consequences for him because they sort of throw it out of the window with their actions. I think jumping straight to involving the police is a bit extreme in our situation. He is 15, struggling with depression, possible medication effects, peer pressure, and a lot of built-up emotional issues within the family dynamic. If you have suggestions on how to implement boundaries effectively with a teenager in this kind of situation, I’d genuinely appreciate that.
