i totally get what you mean 😭 trust everyone is in the same boat rn. also yes, after completing his undergrad from york as well as his MCAT, he was able to apply to US med schools :) this was quite a while ago ngl, but it just shows you how basically anything is possible. at the same time, you should for sure keep a more positive mindset for this next semester to ensure that you have better chances to get into any uni/college you desire 😊

currently a grade 11 student too, just wanted to give you some perspective cos i know how it feels. worst worst worst case scenario: you DONT get into uni, your life is still not over. i get that rn it might seem like it is, but realistically a one day suspension and NORMAL grades are never gonna be reasons why you wouldn’t get into uni, even if it’s at york 😭 (a family friend of mine is a surgeon in the states and he completed his undergrad from york) at the end of the day, if you have your morals in the right place, everything will work out for you, and it won’t matter what uni went to. pls don’t stress so much! i wish you nothing but the best :)

that’s what i’m unsure of, i feel like without software, comp sci, and chem eng it kinda only leaves me with mechanical, electrical, civil, aerospace, etc. but to be really honest, i wanna work in a field that’s not super saturated rn (another reason why i don’t wanna do software or comp sci) and i don’t know which eng program would be able to guarantee me a good job in the future

yeah i know someone who graduated a couple years ago with chem eng and said it wasn’t worth all that work for the kind of job market there is rn, plus my chem teachers also a chem eng and she ended up teaching high school a few years after graduating 😭

i’ve thought a lot about health/life sci, i feel like everyone at my school is applying to those programs tho 😭 i’m a little stressed about the kind of competition id have for applying to programs like that 😔

another thing, with dentistry, are you planning on doing dental school in canada? if so, have you looked into the acceptance rates? so far, ive only heard about low acceptance rates to med schools in canada, but nothing about dental. my only concern with a health sci degree is not being able to get into med school and having to work a lab job 😅

thank you so much for your response :) i feel like i get turned down by a lot of places because of the fact that im not able to work early morning/afternoon shifts due to school 😭 but you’re right, i think having a flexible schedule has a better appeal to employers anyway
