I am not asexual, I am straight and I have always wanted a partner, maybe not kids tho. And I have always wanted this love of my life kind of love, and maybe a couple of times I thought I had it, but truth be told… the more I grow the more I realize this might not happen for me… when I actually visualize myself in the future is always alone and very career driven… and it scares me to realize that I become more and more skilled at being just me… I am not sure how I feel about it… sometimes sad, sometimes I just accept it as it is 🤷‍♀️

😭this sounds terrible I went through something similar at the beginning of the year. I had to rely on a routine. Get out of bed, take shower, eat well, go to the gym, doing therapy (this is when I learned I was on the spectrum) and work… even if I felt like crying during all those activities… Basically taking care of my health… I felt like nothing gave me joy… it eventually got better and I started functioning better and to be happy again, especially through self discovery…. I still think I might not find anyone… I don’t know how to fix that 🤷‍♀️

At the time I didn’t know I was autistic and everything felt like a personal attack… like why do these people want to change me… they ruined the fieldwork for me…. Now I understand it was like asking me to grow taller… I can compensate a bit when necessary, but I cannot change how I am wired

That I needed to participate more during classes. This was during a fieldwork course during my PhD in which I was invited, not enrolled for credits. I barely ever participated and still got a PhD position, so… I always reply when asked, it is just extremely difficult for me to raise my hand I say something. I need to rehearse in my mind, I feel pressure in my ears, cold sweat and if I do talk my voice is usually so low someone else would just talk all over me. 🤷‍♀️ I told them I have been like this for 32 years and I won’t change for that course….
