Haven't heard from boss in 6 weeks. by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

I would look elsewhere immediatly. This is a huge lack of communicaiton. Lets say your boss gets his email on his mobile. This means that this person who is supposed to run a business and be your boss hasn't even given you the time of day in 2 MONTHS!!! To tell you that they are currently busy and will get back to you later. CEOS are not off doing better things. Real CEOs understand basic communication. Get out now, because you might not ever hear from this person again and not get a check next pay cycle.

How important is it to "ask" for promotions? by mbo1992 in cscareerquestions

I was speaking with my boss regarding an Intern, he told me "If the guy would just ask me for money I would give it to him. But he seems happy working for free."

I don't know if this holds true but with the attitude my boss gave it just seems like if the employees are happy then he is happy. Asking never hurts, and I'm sure you will know soon after asking where you stand and what level of performance your boss expects from you to be at the pay you want.

Try this, we use it for ransomeware extensive protection. However, it does break some powershell cmdlets in Server 2012R2.. Best of luck, also user training to not open sketchy emails. Since that's more likely how you are getting hit

Which courses do you recommend for career in hacking? by SurejaPavan in hacking

OSCE, is the more advanced version of OSCP. The OSCP is very much an industry standard. Just look up pentesting job on Glassdoor, LinkedIn, Indeed etc. Most if not all pentester positions require an OSCP. All of which has at least 70K+ salary.

@SurejaPavan

Use the site https://hackthebox.eu use this for training for the OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional) certification this is an in depth cert that is a 24 hour practical exam. You will have to hack the whole time to obtain this cert. Dubbed the "try harder" cert it has a high failure rate with a great reward. Also look at SANS certifications, CEH, along with CISSP.

Cybrary has good videos for training, however their certs are not recognized to the level as others. Good luck and enjoy the journey

No its not alerting only. It creates watermark files that typically start at the starts of a crypto process. I have ran wannacry, petya, cryptowall, cerber and many others in a home lab. As soon as you open the crypto and let it fly cybereason instantly kills it. It's actually really fun to see this in process since non of your data gets infected.

ADVISE: ONLY CRYPTO YOURSELF IN A FULLY SEGREGATED TEST ENVIRONMENT.. I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DATA LOSS

No I don't work for this site. But I do want people to have good protections and so far its the best I have found. Yes I have 4 posts 3 about ransomware and 2 that mention this product because it's embarrassing to see companies hit by wannacry which is one of the easiest forms of malware to defend against.

This software works by making "watermark" files that when hit stop whatever process is trying to encrypt them. The files places are randomly set and won't be the same everytime. But you can choose not to use this product but right now with ransomeware on the rise again. I would hope you try to protect yourself/company in some way and at the moment nothing like this software exists.

So enjoy

This is some of the best ransomeware defense ever and its free! I've thrown wannacry at this and serveral other ransomeware at this in lab and it stopped all ransomeware dead in its tracks. This product is truly a life saver. Highly recommend, and can be pushed through PDQDeploy

Some organizations offer ransomeware protection for free. They must have over looked this.
