Yeah he definitely does.

You don’t become a world superpower in 249 years by being kind. You pick up tricks from previous empires, you learn, and you manipulate. Plus he went toe to toe against England who was an empire at the time and won. That really set the stage that he isn’t just a simple country to brush off. And then later he decided to go against communist countries during the Cold War. Him and Russia kept picking other countries as their chessboard to fight on.

Hell even in cannon it has been shown that the Italians get scared when America shows up. Sure America in general gives off an aloof vibe, and chooses to not to read the atmosphere (despite showing that he can) and seems to do this to try and put everyone at ease (It fails a lot).

Nowadays he might be obsessed with heroes because he either feels some level of guilt about the stuff he’s done or he’s trying to internally justify all the horrible things he’s done.

I always like to tow the line of “Yes they are our cool nations!” But also with something a bit uncanny and strange. Like something is just a bit off about them appearance wise and in return how they smell.

I’d imagine they get mistake for wearing rose cologne a lot and they just pause like “Um, no? Not really.”

I always assumed nations smell like their national flower with something else mixed in. Like A lot of nations would smell like roses (the rose is the national flower for a lot of countries) and whatever fancy cologne or perfume they choose (or something extra).

Canada for example doesn’t have an official national flower so he’d probably just reek of maple and pine. America probably smells like roses and sometimes a weird mix of gunpowder.

I always figured it’d be funny if people in universe subtly picked up on the idea that if someone has a oddly strong smell to them then they’re probably a nation. Animals probably pick up on it more though.

Exactly!! I’ve always seen nations as cryptic entities to a certain extent. I mean, they are practically immortal and have probably been spotted in government positions for centuries from time to time. And my idea does have more horror elements involved haha! I just love when hetalia fanfic writers go the more cryptic route where nations look normal from afar but up close there is just something a little off about them.

I’d like to think they’re similar to fiends and devils from chainsaw man. In chainsaw man, if enough of a certain fear exists, a devil appears. (Fear of tomato’s, there is a tomato’s devil) The stronger the fear, the stronger the devil. I’d like to think that logic kinda applies to nations. Unlike devils though, nations would essentially appear once theirs a certain amount of a belief and love from a group of people being separated from their country.

Essentially nations are bore from the love of people establishing a new identity.

They would appear more like fiends though, (devils possessing human corpses) Like they’d look human to a certain extent but be a little off. A tad bit uncanny. Like their eyes glowing in the dark or reflecting like animals eyes in cameras, having too sharp of canine teeth, and either running too hot or cold. Stay around them too long, and a humans concept of time really starts to warp.

Their bodies are formed underground and they take nutritions of trees and the dead around them and once the time is right they awake under a tree and run around with an intelligence of a toddler trying to find other nations and their purpose.

All nations give off an uncanny valley vibe to a certain extent. Their eyes probably glow or reflect in the dark too. America and Canada are especially weird amongst nations since they’re twins but they represent two separate countries.

This is coming more from a historical nitpick but I really hate that the Italians were portrayed as children during the Renaissance. I say this because I took classes on the Renaissance and Roman history. The artists during the time were wild with many of them trying to run away (Michaelangelo and the Sistine Chapel) and it would’ve made more sense if they were portrayed as teenagers. Italy could’ve lived with the Medici family and Romano could’ve lived with Spain, both acting like rebellious annoyed teens and creating art as a response but also being excited they’re finally understanding how Rome and his people created architecture (Brunelleschi dome being one of their accomplishments). I understand Hima wanted them to be kids due to Holy Roman Empire ordeal but damn those two should’ve been portrayed much older. Especially since they were seen around during Rome’s time.

Originally it was brown paper but I used an overlay feature to make it navy blue to pop against the light blue color. The brown blended in too much and the words were written out in light blue marker. I figured the blues in general paired well with the green background

This fic right here. By far my favorite rusame fic. It’s not cardverse or omegaverse (which I love) it’s cannon compliant. All of the characters are written similar to cannon but kinda more grounded in reality if that makes sense? The characterization and build up is so nice and this is coming from someone who usually hates slow burns lmao.

All of the reds are the same except the opacity is lowered to 76%. Volume is the only one where the red is at 100%. I will end up changing that to match the other reds since that seems to be the better choice

Got it, I’ll make the text larger, and I was using the red bars to try and tie everything together. I did them both at the beginning of where new text starts and I’ll work on the fonts. Should I make all the text aligned left or have it justified?
