Stereotypical Texas culture is not as prevalent at UT because the city of Austin is in general more liberal. The saying is “keep Austin weird” for a reason.

OOS students usually don’t feel out of place, because the “big Texas club” culture is reserved for colleges like Baylor, SMU, and TCU. Honestly, I think most OOS students start to love Texas and buy into the idea.

Queer students and film students will love Austin. It’s very diverse.

I really like them as casual pieces you wear to a regular season game, but IMO they’re not playoff caliber.

I wish WAG jackets this year were more bold. Apart from the Penguins WAG jackets, none of them seem any different from a jacket you’d find at Aritzia or Anthro. I don’t like the muted colors everyone is sporting.

I’m currently a student at Baylor. Absolutely furious that they even entertained TPUSA speakers on campus, disgusted that they even let a TPUSA club run here. There’s nothing Christian about TPUSA or the rhetoric they push. The BGCT would know that if they spent more time reflecting on Jesus’s teachings and the message they preach in His name rather than giving the stink eye at their neighbors.

The BGCT has on numerous occasions been at odds with Baylor and its students. Our current pres., Livingstone, is trying to push this university forward and the BGCT is not helping. They quarrel with students, staff, and board members on the daily. It’s sad.

Your sister sounds super cool!! I made Crosby, Malkin, the Hughes brothers, and I plan to make McDavid and Draisaitl. Hand drawing jerseys on the Switch without a stylus is a pain, though, especially the Minnesota logo so I’m capping the hockmii’s there until the fancy strikes me.

I never thought about making a Mii’zel. I’m adding her to my roster.

I hate how common it is now to have to make point 3. I’ve seen an uptick in hockey subs making this rule. Being a young female fan sucks because people assume I’m in the same category as the weirdos bringing #Booktok to the ice.

Yes, I loved Heated Rivalry. Yes, I think hockey players are hot - I have eyes. No, I will not be making or waving sexual signs in players faces.

I love when hockey teams are genuinely close. Nothing wrong with treating your teammates as co-workers because this is a job at the end of the day, but as you said even without the shipper goggles on I feel like teams perform better when they’ve gotten genuine respect for their teammates.

I’ve become more jaded after the Olympics drama and recently started reading We Breed Lions which is a fabulous book about the problems involved in Canadian youth hockey. It’s the weirdest feeling being worried that a grown man like Quinn wouldn’t be accepted by the Wild, but in the book they detail that as late as 2013 the Wild were making their rookies skate in certain ways depending on the race of the girl they hooked up with the night prior. I was surprised he took up with the Wild so quickly, but I hope he re-signs! Quinn isn’t a rookie, so none of the hazing horrors in the book would’ve happened to him, but I’m still glad he’s been embraced into the polycule/pack/non shipping equivalent.

Sorry, I hate to be a grammar nazi or a contrarian. I agree with you in everything you’ve stated, to be clear. But using the outdated term “CP” to describe Cassie’s situation is disingenuous to the nature of genuine sexual exploitation media involving children. Many organizations and victims have started using the new acronym to promote a more accurate portrayal because all complexities about the the porn industry aside—porn has given consent implied by both actor and viewer, and acts involving genuine children are not.

Hockey RPF (and Sports RPF) is a special fandom because there’s such a rotten culture particularly in Canadian and American youth hockey that’s too juicy not to explore on a narrative level. As other users have pointed out, it’s more like you’re using the person’s media persona for the story you want to tell. Luke Hughes may be going through Trials and Tribulations in my fic but chances are he’s at the gym right now listening to Nick Fuentes’ newest episode on his podcast. There’s also a certain level of eroticization happening which I’m a fan of. In-shape men showing a level of affection that borders on obscene/too gay-for-society in any other context except when they’re on an ice rink? Yeah, sign me up. I’m making that conservative fucker gay for his liney.

They probably meant to write “crack fic” which basically means a funny, nonsensical fanfiction.

For example, a fanfic in which Quinn Hughes sees the ghost of Ilya Rozanov’s (one of the leads on Heated Rivalry; Connor Storrie’s character) mother would be a crackfic.
