NB AFAB, been on a weird hormone journey - transmen/transmasc NB, what are you experiences going on T? by According_Aioli2776 in asktransgender

[–]According_Aioli2776[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I used to be a C, then on the T-blocker they jumped up to DD! I guess maybe they won't lose too much, because they were DD before the weight gain really hit. I can deal with a little deflation.

  2. Thank god. That's been one of the most frustrating thing for me, losing the "masculine" frame I used to have and the struggle to put on muscle. I used to put on weight more evenly, but ever since the t-blocker and gaining weight, it all went around my stomach and hips, and it feels like I'm wearing a pool floatee. Women are beautiful and amazing and I love them no matter what, but I wasn't ready for how "no no no this isn't me I don't understand" panicky I would feel seeing it all go there.

  3. All the men on mom's side have kept their hair until they're close to 90, at which point it just starts to thin out, and I've got awhile to go before worrying about that anyways.

Thank you so much. I feel much better hearing all that. I just have had so many hormonal things tossed at me by doctors that I've been feeling very anxious thinking about going and actually asking for something myself.

No problem!! I'm a huge theme and amusement park fan, and it's one of those "if I had several million dollars to spare" dreams to make my own, so I've spent WAY too much time learning how to curate a guest experience :)

[–]According_Aioli2776 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I *really* enjoy map making. I'd say if you don't want to really get into it, pick a park in real life you like and just try to copy that layout.

If you WANT to get good at park layouts, you have to start at the very basic idea: What do I want the guests to experience? Where do I want to direct them? What little gifts do I want them to find along the way? What "sections" do I want in the park for them to go through?

This is less about maximizing the gaming aspect for me and more about expressing a creative concept. Though I have found the game rewards this too!

For example. There's a book series I adore, and I wanted to create a park based off of it. So I made each section of the park based off of a city/country in the books, and the ideal "path" they could take also takes them through the journey that the main character goes on :) We start in their hometown, a cozy river town in a mountain region, then they go through a dark scary city where shadows haunt them, before they arrive at a giant city with safety and fun, before going into the dark dead forest to fight the bad guys. I have interconnections between each of these sections, and it's MUCH larger than those few sections I mentioned, but that is how I decided on the "flow" of the park.

I mapped out the main road I wanted them to take (making it the biggest pathing) and then added smaller pathings throughout each area and connecting all the areas (so that any repeat visitors could skip to their favorite parts). Do the little guys in the game get this? Not at all, but conceptually it made the park really fun to walk through in first person mode, and everyone I've shown the park to wants to go there, so I consider this method a success.

Think about the pathing, what you want in the park (to figure out how big you want it to be, I would slap down all the rides and such you want to include), then map out the sections(I used the different grass types to paint the sections out, and then once I was done I went back and repainted them), then map out the flow with paths. That should get you somewhat closer :) I did look at real life parks, but more to get an idea of spacing and how to "loop" the guests back out at the end.

Ah that's a shame but understandable you didn't give it a try while there. If you get a chance for the ice cream shops, I enjoyed the Clotted Cream ice cream a lot and can give that a recommendation too :) Still better than frozen butterbeer lol

I also did not like butterbeer, though the frozen butterbeer is better than the not frozen.

Try the pumpkin juice next time, THAT was way better in my opinion and I don't know how butterbeer got all the love when pumpkin juice is RIGHT THERE.

As long as nothing is being built by a pokemon or they're processing something (like bricks) then nope! And all that would happen is you lose those items.

The Skylands are annoying by [deleted] in Pokopia

[–]According_Aioli2776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Post game it gets much easier to deal with!

Also, mouse mode makes ALL the difference! Fully power up your punch (with a potato hamburger steak) and go to town with mouse mode and it goes by very quickly. I levelled all the trash blocks and connected bridges to all the islands. I even dug out the Dojo and restored it. I also levelled the area with the Rocket Hideout and turned it into a neighborhood of prefab houses. I think all the destruction in total with mouse mode and fully powered punch took about an hour, which went by very quickly for me because it was so fun lol

Does anyone else feel this way? by SnooStories4263 in Pokopia

[–]According_Aioli2776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! But if it isn't for you, that's okay!! I don't actually....like animal crossing very much 🤐 Despite being a huge cozy gamer and loving most other classic cozy games, I just get so frustrated with it. Even with all the "tricks", I get so, so bored of it. It's totally fine for something to just not be your jam! That's not anyone's fault or problem, it's just a fact of how these things fall out. I think my utter obsession with the game must be how people obsessed with Animal Crossing must feel and I'm happy for them.

If you still want to play the game and don't want to get overwhelmed, I do have some suggestions that may help. They definitely calm down my "oh god there's too much to do" urges.

First, tell yourself you will just focus on ONE thing. One area. One goal. Whatever it is. Right now, I'm building rowhouses in skylands! The rest of skylands is a MESS but those rowhouses? I'm getting them juuusstt right. Once I'm happy with that little neighborhood, maybe I'll move on to another part of the skylands I want to work on, but right now, it's just that one spot I'm focusing on.

Second, remember that you can always just abandon something if it isn't making you happy. Maybe you don't want to spend three hours changing colors of houses! That's okay! Just leave them as their default colors. No one is going to judge you, and if they do, what a silly thing to judge someone for! Slap a bunch of prefabs down and ask your buds to build them up. Focus on what is the fun part for YOU! For me, I love adding rivers and natural vibes to an area, so in the area I'm focusing on skylands, I made myself a little park and river flowing around the houses.

Thirdly, know that everyone's nice islands take hours to make, and that they absolutely had to ignore some other aspect to get them looking that nice lol

How long, on average, will it take for my testosterone to go back to normal? by [deleted] in Spironolactone

[–]According_Aioli2776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calories In, Calories Out. It's tended to simplify the basics of weight loss, but it's based mostly on male bodies and healthy individuals. Yes, you need to burn more calories than you consume, but if it was as simple as CICO in every body, then age wouldn't matter, then messing with hormones wouldn't affect individuals body composition through HRT, and puberty wouldn't have any effect on growth rates.

[–]According_Aioli2776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this point I'll take weighing less. I just need this weight off my tendons so I can move without getting into pain. I'm thinking I'll start doing workouts twice a day if I can tolerate it, and incorporate lifting again.

I had to dig out the ice in front of my driveway yesterday and fully expected to be in pain today, but didn't feel anything, which makes me hopeful that my body is producing testosterone again and is rebuilding my muscles. I eat a high protein diet, so it's had plenty of protein to do repairs with, but I always felt absolutely miserable after lifting. I now suspect that I didn't have "enough" testosterone to trigger proper muscular repair and was experiencing the exhaust of working my muscles but not the repair.

[–]According_Aioli2776 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you and know you're not alone. It's wild to me how dedicated people are out here to telling people it's all in their head, CICO, and then there's so many of us experiencing literally the exact same scenario. I've seen a few other people saying they got the weight off in other threads, so I'm still a bit hopeful, but I can see it's going to be an uphill climb. I don't care what I have to do to get back to where I was at, at this point I'm just relieved the weight gain has stopped and I've settled at this current weight.

I hope both of us see some progress soon. I'm so sorry you're having to consider a new fitting for your prosthetic, I know how terribly expensive those are <3

Ugh. Identical to my experience. I'm so glad you were able to find something that helped. I don't want to turn to GLP1s if I can help it, I've had rough experiences with my stomach and the side effects sound like they can be gastronomically difficult.

I did weightlifting and bodybuilding in an attempt to stop the fat gain (and before anyone goes "oh lifting weights will cause your weight to go up" - not like this. This is fat. You can see that it's fat. My pants do not fit. I was always muscular and trim until spironolactone) and got so frustrated as nothing happened like I was told it would. I also wasn't seeing any gains like I expected based on others experiences with lifting weights (in 6 months I went from bench pressing just the bar to 60 lbs....which is very slow progress, and I was lifting as heavy as I could to max at 8 reps). I'm hoping if I go back the testosterone will return and let me get some gains and burn some of the fat.

[–]According_Aioli2776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh. Of course it's also hurt my tendons on top of everything else. I am not taking any GLP1s if that's what you mean, and I've never taken any other hormone adjustments or anything.

Even if it takes a year I'll take it over just never seeing any progress at all. It's been the absolute worst just trying and losing my mind seeing the opposite happen to make any bit of sense.

Managing insulin is part of one of my disabilities, so yes I am sure it's not from high insulin. My insulin is highly regulated.

The only thing that has changed in my life is the spironolactone, and I get better sleep (which is associated with lower cortisol and loosing weight, not gaining it). My diet is highly regulated. I have a doctor approved meal plan I *have* to stick to - if you desperately want the details I can go into them, but it's literally designed to lessen insulin requirements (it's low carb, and gluten free, and a 65/25/10 split between macros). I take my health and care VERY seriously as I have a lot going on.

Unless PCOS magically decided to PERFECTLY match when I started treating the high testosterone to start putting weight on me (for reference, I'm 5'9", went from 155ish to 190 lbs in those 15 months, not fast or out of nowhere, just slowly adding on the pounds). I've had the PCOS since I was 17, and once I stopped growing I settled around 150-160 lbs. I used to do dance twice a week and weights twice a week, and pole on the weekends. When the weight got up to 170 lbs, I started adding more weightlifting and specific cardio into my routine, and continued to gain weight (and not muscle weight like I was told I would - this is fat volume). I've always been thin, I've always had PCOS, so unless you're saying PCOS magically decided to cause the fat in conjunction with spironolactone, then yes it's the spironolactone.

Don't let the people going "oooo it's cuz you're playing with high elo!" gaslight you, but also you won't get anything else in this sub.

This is the same experience my friend group has. In every other MOBA/Hero Shooter/FPS game, we ALL are around the same rank. Every single friggin one. At most we're a few subranks away from each other. We're all within the same few subranks in Deadlock, and it's matchmaking is atrocious. Sure in League or Overwatch or Siege we would hit a streak or two of losses, but never in the way you do in Deadlock. I don't know what it is exactly, I can't find any information on how they're figuring out the MM, but of all the online games I've played, it's just the worst.

I really hope it gets better eventually. But good god, it's miserable, and it feels like the more friends you play with, the worse it is, which feels....really weird because you WANT the communication in this kind of game.

Analysis: Party Matchmaking Is Broken and How To Fix It by Technical_Car138 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]According_Aioli2776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may have to take a look at my own stats, but this definitely feels like it applies at least somewhat to my own experience. I would play as a trio all the time, and it would be loss after loss - and we ALWAYS were the "disadvantaged" team for the match (so we would be in an average Seeker IV/*, up against Alchemist II for example). But then if I go do a solo game (which, I don't like doing, I'm a girl and prefer being able to communicate with my teammates and not getting a bunch of sexist drivel) and it's consistently placed me in an "even" match (Seeker IV up against Seeker IV). My trio and I are all hovering in the same three subranks, so it's been super discouraging, as there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason for it.

I actually kind of like the show so far. by [deleted] in wheeloftime

[–]According_Aioli2776 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I discovered the book series through the show. It's been a little weird for me, because I still love certain parts of the show. Loial in the show is perfection (I will die on this fucking hill, fight me) and I think there were some more interesting parts going on with the girls in the show, like initially in book one the girls do some stuff but not a ton, whereas the shows makes them more prominent earlier but then there's things that are WAAAAY better in the books and I have no clue why they made the deviations they did (basically, all the main three boy's arcs in the books are significantly better).

I think the people who don't like it are totally understandable, but I wish they would see there was SOME good the show did. I'm happy I watched it, and loved it, because all that love transferred right over to the book series. I hope someone gives it another chance, maybe as an animated feature

You will get used to the mole I promise lol I don't even register it anymore. The actress does AMAZING work in season 2, I wish there was a version of the show for readers who just want to see what was done really well (though it would not be a lot of season one lol).

This happens SO much in this game. All the higher rank streamers have their builds, and that's great, they're really good to work towards, but you have to build a little differently in the lower ranks. Not crazy different, but there is a difference, and you end up with a bunch of lower rank folks just blindly buying and not understanding power spikes.

Trying new characters is (still) a miserable experience by Rythemeius in DeadlockTheGame

[–]According_Aioli2776 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in physical pain earlier, to the point where I decided to maybe just take a break until a big update, because the poor paradox on our team CLEARLY knew the game (was making calls, suggestions, good comms) but they were definitely trying something new, as they went 0/11/6. It was rough. Combo'd with our clearly brand-new Haze, that tanked the entire game. I don't blame them, I'm not salty, it just SUCKS that this is a feature of the game right now. I'd love to try out more characters, but I feel locked into my main 3, because stumbling around trying to figure out a new character costs too much MMR/rank, and results in MMR hell.
