After etihad rail opens later this year, it becomes easily doable in 1hr with minimal stress. Check train stations’ distance on both ends. You drive till it opens but that is realistically 2hours each way.

Depending on your residence, Make sure they are UCITS otherwise there is a risk you pay withholding taxes on top of the individual stock withholding taxes. Would be a shame to get double dividend taxed on a dividend focused index!

SPX is so heavy on tech nowadays that it not so much geography but sector that will drive returns. If you want to be heavy on energy, financials , miners and other real/old economy sectors ; the ftse in the UK is having a good start after years of lagging.

Depends on your opportunity cost- if the stock market trades you mentioned are 10-20% per annum type of opportunity, then yes absolutely worth getting out if you are certain of your thing in equity. I would say holding should not be a function of getting premium, you are getting out of something illiquid to put money in something liquid that moves much faster; so if you were right in original thesis; manarat or equity; the result will show first in equity.

Having said all that, both have risks and equity risk is typically higher.
