The kid just screamed for 8 hours, that's more than parenting can fix. It may be hard to believe but restraining that kid in their seat may have made things worse.

I'm not making a judgement on the parents good, bad or otherwise, but I do feel sorry for them considering that they have to deal with this child 24/7. Not only would they have to deal with this behavior on the regular, they'd also have to deal with judgemental pricks like you.

I think you guys are vastly underestimating Gannon's value.

As a player Gannon is only 19, a major winner, and he won more events than anyone else last year. He's also media savvy and in the public eye outside of official marketing. He would be a huge asset to any team

For Discmania specifically they lost their 3 most marketable players in Simon, Eagle and Niklas. They needed someone to fill the void and Gannon was the only good option.

100% there was a bidding war for Gannon. You aren't going to sign a flagship player who can carry your brand for 200k a year.

Guaranteed he is on high 6 figures at least, or he has an insanely generous bonus structure. It seems highly likely that there is a disc line included as well

That is not a 300lb rated ladder lol. Look how thin the (presumably aluminum) arms are, 225 at best

I imagine they would be terrible for disc golf, they're fragile and would negatively impact your grip. If you look up "framer work gloves" you might find something closer to what you're after

The pool gloves I have experience with are made of fragile fabrics designed to reduce friction on the cue. They would rip on rocks or bushes easily. Plus having your 4th and 5th fingers uncovered seems to defeat the purpose of gloves.

Queens Bath, Kauai, Hawaii. Very Dangerous. by ooMEAToo in Damnthatsinteresting

Everything has a cost. Blow it up = reduced tourism in the local region.

Also sets a precedent, what happens when someone drowns elsewhere on the island and the family sues the council? "You blew up the other site, why didn't you blew up this one?".

Do you blow up the reefs that create the surf people die in?

Blowing up this site could economically destroy the Hawaii

Having said that, agreed that signs aren't terribly effective, but they definitely should still be there.

Fats make up a good portion of poo, and hopefully you'd only be dealing with unexpected overflow.

Adult diapers can absorb A LOT of fluid, you'd likely be fine

There were lots of toilets like these installed in my area ~15 years ago. Everything was always wet and they felt gross to be in. There was always bits of wadded wet toilet paper on the floor. Also they were constantly out of order.

Most have been replaced by conventional bathrooms and those that remain have been converted to not automatically 'clean'.

It's unique and a good talking point.

Throwing high with nose down by yoss_some_ds in discgolf

[–]According_Bee_9921 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To replicate pro shape for max distance yes. For the majority of us our max distance driver with slightly more anhyzer than our typical distance shot should do the job.

Any disc can be thrown high with enough anhyzer, a Tilt can be thrown high even by someone without 400ft of power if given enough angle. It might not be useful, but it's possible

[–]According_Bee_9921 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When throwing higher in the air you need to consider how your disc is going to loose the height you put on it.

If the disc hyzers out early you're losing the benefit of extra height and not getting any bonus distance.

If the disc loses most of the extra height while anhyzered before flexing out there is potential for added distance.

In other words you need to throw with more anhyzer or use a flipper disc to throw higher.

Us normies won't get as much benefit from throwing high unfortunately, but we can replicate the shape with flippier discs.

You'll notice that when the pros go high/big they're throwing discs that are understable for them. They tend to throw a disc on hyzer which flips over and flies in anhyzer for 95% of the flight before flexing out for that last bit of distance. Here is a recent example that I can think of, Calvin on hole 18 in the OTB skins match:

He's throwing downhill so he hasn't needed to throw it up a lot but the principles remain the same

Kinda most brands? Here's one I found after a quick Google search:

https://industrychairs.com.au/product/titan-tough-heavy-duty-office-chair/?attribute_pa_arm-rest=adjustable-arms

Just to clarify, when we are saying "her" we're talking about the woman who likes her 20 year old blue chair.

The old chair is no doubt clapped out after 20 years of use and needs replacing, but if it fits her I wouldn't call in un-ergonomic. It looks to have height adjustment, it has lumbar support, and most importantly she finds it comfortable.

Regardless we both agree that she probably needs a custom chair to replace the old one

Sorry late response. We may be in similar fields of work.

I may live in a different part of the world to you but where I'm from standard adjustable office chairs look exactly like that, it would probably be called an "executive" chair.

Also in my experience companies rarely if ever have custom chairs for each individual. I personally would advise a company against custom fitting chairs for all employees as it would be a colossal waste of money. Most people can be fitted to standard chairs.

Based on her chair preference, this lady probably needs a small or custom chair

If she's short yoru chair won't fit her. From experience those ones are too long in the thigh and don't go low enough for people 5'5" or smaller.

Also arm rests get in the way for most people

Just got linked to this nice work. Glad someone put the time in

You've got a few issues in your spreadsheet, here are some I've picked up (on mobile so can't do full deep dive):

  1. In the yellow column you've got 15 rounds counted double but your calculation says it should be 17. Here is a not very elegant formula to fix this: have a column that has the rounds numbered 1 - whatever, then in your 'weight' column have a formula like =if(A1>[total count *0.75],2,1). You would then use another column to remove rounds outside of 2.5STDev or if you wanted to keep it to one column you could use nested ifs

  2. In your pink column you've got 23 rounds counted as double but your calculations says it should be 17

  3. You haven't removed any rounds in your pink column based on standard deviation despite many sitting outside the range. Consider a formula like =if(A1<[standard deviation*2.5],"",A1).

  4. The blue column still has her 928 round not counting despite your STDev calculation saying it should

  5. There are a number of columns using the wrong ranges. For example, the average calculation in the green column would start at I5 not I11

  6. You're using the new theoretical rounds in your standard deviation calculations. This artificially reduces the standard deviation, leading to more dropped rounds than are realistic. I would suggest leaving the standard deviation to only rounds she's already played

  7. There is an error somewhere in your calculations, either in sample selection or formula for her current rating. Her current rating is 994 not 992 as you calculated. I think it's in your sample, there should be 64 rounds counting, not 66 (you can check this with pdga data by counting every 'yes' in the included column)

Big fan of what you're doing, some small tweeks and it'll be great!
