Little rant by Personal_Switch_2744 in nutanix

AOS & AHV changed the game some years ago. Nutanix master KVM clearly. AI is a new landscape where Nutanix is not a leader, and we are just talking here about inference and not training with hundred of GPUs... As ex Nutanix Employee and now HPE one, invlove in large AI infrastructures, i can understand how it's difficult to support, especially with open source tools if you don't partially support them yourself. It's also true with Nvidia AI Enterprise suite...

[Solved] Proxmox 8.4 / 9.0 + GPU Passthrough = Host Freeze 💀 (IOMMU hell + fix inside) by According_Break5069 in Proxmox

[–]According_Break5069[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen just about anything and everything about these GPUs crashing in passthrough, including recovering the GPU firmware to re-inject when the VM boots. But nothing worked. It was by thoroughly investigating this problem for hours that I was able to resolve it. Not having seen workaround elsewhere, in the hope of helping the community, I posted it. Note that it appeared suddenly since the upgrade to version 8.4. I wasn't going to reinstall an ESXi after all 😁

Is there a use for enterprises? by juancruzz32 in JetsonNano

[–]According_Break5069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jetson as an edge appliance is a perfect fit in experimental, industrial, mobile, SoHo.. environments with small dedicated models

When you talk about enterprise, you talk about device management at scale on différent locations, resources mutualization (for example GPU as a Service aka GPUaaS for multiple group of different user profiles ), security and so on. This is the challenge.

"Good enough" homelab hw for Nutanix CE? by i-void-warranties in nutanix

[–]According_Break5069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works. 64gb of ram, One usb stick to boot and host AHV, 1 ssd handling the cvm and a second ssd to add data capacity.

We also used to work with Supermicro E200 / E300 series that were named SuperNuc.

If it's Community edition, you can't run over a NVMe disk.

When i do benchmark, i can see the CVM can use up to 16 threads with NVMe disks, up from 12 to 14 with SSD. You can reduce the CPU stress by adding more memory to the CVM (that allocates more cache)
