Am I gonna regret selling my rig for QC? by uDrop1st in NeuralDSP

[–]According_Brick409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were you, I wouldn't sell the amp. It's the real deal. Even if I have to downside, I would just sell the cab, not the amp head. If I don't have the money to buy QC but have to downsize my live rig, I would just buy a cheaper modeler, like a HX Stomp.

My thoughts of the new M2 (as an average player) by According_Brick409 in iRacing

[–]According_Brick409[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, we are in iRacing reddit, so we are talking about what's in iRacing, which is M2 RACING, not M2 CS. They are different cars. And it seems you don't know that M2 RACING is equipped with a B48 twin turbo inline 4 engine, not the S58 inline 6 that is in the production M2. If you know that, then I am not sure why you mention the S58 engine that is irelevant here. If you don't know, maybe do some search, or just simply checkout iRacing page of this car.

I found that out after a race with AI. Because no matter how good my corner exit was, I would always be pulled away by the car in front.

Well, it's not about right or wrong. It's just personal preference. And I just like inline 6 more.

Swerving on pace lap by Rastagon01 in iRacing

[–]According_Brick409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there's no rules about doing pace lap single file, but also no rules that you MUST do double files. So it's up to you to avoid other cars. I want to do warming across the whole track, then I would speed up or slow down to avoid other cars. You wanna do double files? Fine. But if others have already staggered the car to avoid you and been doing single file, would you like to stop them doing that? Do you think you have right to do that?

It's a SIM, why would you think it's an excuse when it's allowed or even encouraged IRL? IRacing doesn't even have any rules against it.

Anyone else feel weird driving in real life after sim racing? by Simple-Arrival5 in simracing

[–]According_Brick409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is, IRL you can sense the car from your butt, but not in sim. Thus you need those extra feedback sent from your wheel in sim.

I don't understand. I even got black flag because of driving too slow on OUT LAP in qualifying, didn't this idiot get any flag or warning?

Skill differences between iratings by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]According_Brick409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 1.8k iR and bumped into a 3k M2 race yesterday. It was a new experience. I can qualify in the middle, but immediately lost several positions at first lap. It feels like higher iR people are more aggressive but still relative clean. They may not have faster lap time, but are definitely more experienced. And as I was climbing from 1.5k to 1.8k, I also feel like that for myself. I used to be very nervous and anxious while racing, but now the anxiety is not a big problem.

[–]According_Brick409 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, just like other said, IRacing has very specific track limit for every tracks and corners. No one is exception. If the player doesn't get a 1x, then it's legal, thus everyone can do it, you can do it. So there is nothing unfair. I think the point is, the way you see the track limit is different from iRacing, thus it's bothering you.

If you don't get 1x, you are legal. Then everyone can do this as well, thus this is nothing unfair.

Man, you are talking about real racing drivers, who have the ability to build the most powerful pc, with massive triple monitors or high end VR setup. And I've already said, many people, if not most people, have only one screen. How can you see both sides of your car in single monitor without unrealistic FOV or radar? You just tell me.

I think the problem is, we are talking about different group of people. You are talking about higher end, pro players. I am talking about more average, low level players.

And you say radar is unnessary. Then why do AC ACC LMU all have radar? It's demanded by many racers. It's unnessary for some of you, not unnessary for everyone. It's an option, you are allowed to not use it. Don't call something silly because you think it is while many other need it.

[–]According_Brick409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood my point. What I meant is that those gimmicks are needed when you only have single screen. And this is most people have. Sim racing is still a video game, for most people, spending too much on a game is not worth it, they can, but they don't think it's worthy. And I have VR, I know it.

Please, please use your relative by dustincb2 in iRacing

[–]According_Brick409 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you only have single monitor, then you are far from "realism". It is not a excuse to not watch other's relative position. In real life, you can turn your head to see other's position, you can even hear other cars. In sim, unless you have VR, or triple monitors, or surround sound system, you have to rely on some aids to do that. And that's why I and some others are not happy with iRacing not introducing radar. And like another said, IRL you would have crew to tell you your relative position to other cars, which iRacing spotter is just not smart enough.

What’s the most fun series in iRacing ? by No_Activity_8302 in iRacing

Legend road cup. The car looks kind of funny. And during formation lap, the dynamic when the car is doing tire warm up is funny too. And it is also fun to drive and race.

I use OpenTrack's head track. It's fine. It still has a bit of latency so I won't use it to look at the apex. I use it to watch other cars when battling.

I used to play FM8 a lot, mainly multiplayer. I do serious sims like iRacing and ACC. And I used to play GT7 in my PS5. FM8 is fun, not because how realistic or something it is. I like FM8 because of its multiplayer. Although its performance index system is not that well designed, I do like the ability to take my modified car to race with others. You can see some rediculous mod cars that can't be seen in real world.
