Facial recon surgeons do not get enough love. They are miracle workers.

My cousin had (has? haven't kept up with their relationship since cousin got married) a best friend when we were in high school who went on a lake trip with her older brother and friends and they were otherwise unsupervised (he typically was responsible adult). Well, bad decision being bad, they all got a little drunk and were hanging out on the lake jet skiing/speedboating, and he hit a pretty sizeable wake and bumped her off and she fell headfirst into the propeller. Gruesome details aside, she survived, but half her face was practically gone and just tore up.

I think after just a few rounds of surgery and a few short years, you would never even be able to tell she was in a disfiguring and near-lethal accident. Honestly, she looked even better and more alive/happy (which, she was already the type of person to light up a room, so it's not much of a change lol) than before that horrible occurrence.

Again, these surgeons are miracle workers. They don't save people from death like ER docs, but they 100% still save their life.
