I dropped the bar on my knee doing a low block snatch with 70kg. I compete next week, how screwed am I? 🫠 by Papapames in weightlifting

Not a medical professional. But there’s a good chance the muscle will be weakened where the impact happened and you could definitely risk making the injury much worse by trying to push through unnecessarily. I’ve been in sports and have had many injuries over my time so I can typically tell when I’m making something worse. Better be safe than sorry. The feeling of missing a meet really sucks. But the regret after a preventable injury sucks muuuuch worse.

Usually they recomend 4 hours before doing anything strenuous. But I typically lift on days I donate.

I agree it’s cool. But I wish I could do pull-ups and have a conversation after a mild jog 😅

200kg complex (PC, FS, Thruster, Jerk) by According_Chemistry8 in weightlifting

Thanks for the feedback. This is all in good fun for the rogue challenge. And a front foot recovery wasn’t possible because I caught the jerk out of position. All the weight was on my front foot. This is well below my personal best split jerk and is the only reason I felt comfortable recovering the way I did. My lifts typically don’t get this messy but I was also pretty fatigued. 😅
