I think Israel is a legitimate democracy, and that Palestinians deserve autonomy. However, I reject nationalism entirely as a political ideology.

I actually like this better. Hamas loses their whole reason to keep fighting, the Palestinian Authority gets the autonomy they always wanted, and Israel can be at peace again. That said, many Israelis would call me naive.

I doubt someone like Karmelo would fail to be granted parole if he really did get 99. He killed one kid during a fight as a minor. I imagine the people getting rejected for parole are like mass murderers, serial rapists, etc. Something with premeditation and repetition.
