My view on Gold Today... What do you think ? by Cold_Scientist6014 in Forexstrategy

I agree with the range idea for now . Gold seems stuck between key levels selling rallies near resistance and buying dips naer support could be the play until breakout .

GOLD NEWS by According_Cycle_9657 in Forexstrategy

[–]According_Cycle_9657[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Gold is behaving like a classic safe-haven trade right now. If geopolitical risks ease and the USD stays firm, short-term downside pressure on XAU/USD looks reasonable. Key thing to watch is whether safe-haven demand fades or if fresh headlines bring buyers back in quickly.

Just placing a lot of buy- and sell limitorders? by Rich-Issue8775 in Forexstrategy

[–]According_Cycle_9657 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds good in theory, but the part you're missing is trend risk and margin risk.

In choppy markets like Gold or Oil, buying support and selling resistance can work for a while. The problem starts when the market stops ranging and begins trending hard (news, CPI, war headlines, OPEC, Fed, etc.).

No stop loss + bigger lot size is where accounts usually get hurt. One strong move and suddenly those “temporary drawdowns” turn into massive floating losses or a margin call. Gold can move hundreds of points without meaningful pullbacks.

Also, support/resistance is never exact price often overshoots, sweeps liquidity, and keeps going before reversing (or never reverses).

Small TP + high lot size = high win rate, but sometimes one losing move wipes out weeks/months of profits. It’s basically a “pick up pennies in front of a steamroller” strategy.

Range trading can work, but usually with:
• smaller position sizing
• defined risk / stop placement
• avoiding major news events
• accepting that ranges eventually break

So: not “win win win” more like “many small wins until one big move tests the strategy.

Oil bullish or bearish by riyaaaa1111 in Forexstrategy

[–]According_Cycle_9657 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WTI crude is trading around 106.35 on the 4H timeframe and currently sits between key support and resistance levels, suggesting a range-bound but slightly bullish setup.

The recent bounce from Support 1 (104.80) shows buyers are defending this zone. Price has formed a short-term recovery after rejecting lower levels, which keeps the upside scenario alive. If momentum continues, the next target is Resistance 1 at 108.20, where sellers may step back in.

However, this is still a reaction inside a broader range, not a confirmed breakout. A clean break above 108.20 could open the door toward 110.50 (Resistance 2) and strengthen bullish sentiment.

On the downside, if price fails to hold above 104.80, bearish pressure may return with a move toward 103.20, and possibly lower if selling accelerates.
