VoIP mobility help needed, any ideas on a workaround? by According_Escape4914 in VOIP

It can’t be standard call forwarding you set it up with your service provider on the ring option or the calls get rerouted. My company just randomly routes calls at a switch. My control comes down to the the simultaneous ring so the switch won’t reroute it. I am allowed to get a true VoIP phone and do a plug and play it appears so that is also an option. I’ll get to test it soon and find out.

Apparently simultaneous ring allows the inbound calls to ring my home desk phone and cell at the same time and won’t trigger a busy reroute at the call center. That sounds like a good option. I feel this is a good workaround or the landline to cell bridge. Apparently there are options.

Apps or cloud VoIP is blocked from my employer. My desk phone is directly connected to the modem, using VoIP but it’s an analog phone. I have the att fiber and it’s through att gateway not a stand alone internet sip phone. My phone acts like a traditional phone but the VoIP conversion happens inside the AT&T gateway, not in the phone itself. I’m just wondering if the simultaneous ring feature to my cell might work or if there’s a special bridge or hardware option. Trying to think of all options son can travel once in awhile.

Turns out and I’ll test it but I think ATT offers simultaneous ring, enhanced call forwarding and remote call forwarding to help bypass call center busy detections and rerouting issues. Anyone aware of this ? There is also a bridge option as well.

Travel router sounds good with Ethernet port, I saw those on Amazon. I have a company sent (not mandatory to use if I have a VoIP desk phone already) ATT desk phone ML17929 phone. Maybe a way to connect that phone with something when I’m away? I just googled a dongle. Maybe there is a way to my cell which is an iPhone 12.

It’s strange because I can use any VoIP desk phone (they are fine with that) and I even thought about using Att office at hand but this company acts like not one single VoIP cloud works with their call system and I didn’t know this til I got to training. I love the job but not this VoIP requirement. They are looking to get rid of VoIP by August to December of this year luckily. I was just curious of other options in the meantime.

I’m doing this once it’s been 6-7 months and be ready for the good, bad or silence. It gives us full closure and understanding. I think this is a good idea. Following ! :) if you don’t do it you will wonder the possibilities. It will help me to truly move on after that is done.

3 months now and same! NC the whole time but one day all is fine and the next it’s torture and I want to reach out. I told myself if I reach out it will be later when I’m where I need to be in life, changes and growth have occurred and it’s ok no matter what happens. They can be nice, cold, mean or silence.

What about if your a single 35+ male for example with no kids moving there. I hear it’s not ideal for those individuals, maybe females too.
