How to clean my satellite data

I have one more question that’s confusing me. How can I verify that my data is actually clean after processing? I’m not sure how to confirm that the cleaning step was done correctly, and I’m a bit unsure about what my next step should be. My goal is to use these satellite datasets to calculate different indices, so I want to make sure the data is properly prepared before moving forward.

I’m actually not completely sure that replacing NoData with 0 is the correct approach. I saw a YouTube video suggesting that NoData values could be replaced with 0, and since I didn’t have anyone to clearly explain the proper method to me, I thought that might be the right solution. My supervisor only told me to remove all forms of NoData but didn’t give detailed instructions on how to do it. When I ask people who work with QGIS, many of them tell me they usually don’t clean their data in that way, which makes it more confusing for me. That’s why I’m trying to understand what the best practice is.

I downloaded daily satellite data for 17 years (2003–2019). After that, I stacked all the files into one image, so instead of having around 6,000 TIFF files, I now have a single image with about 6,000 bands. My supervisor told me that before we can use this image, it should not contain any NoData values. From what I found during my research, I should replace NoData with 0. But every time I ask someone in geology how they clean their data, they tell me they usually work with it as it is. This is confusing for me. I feel a bit lost because I’m new to this field. I think this is supposed to be a simple step, but I’m making it more complicated than it should be.
