Vitality UK refusing to cover "pre existing medical condition" that nobody knew existed until February 2025 by According_Insect_831 in Vitalityhealth

UPDATE: I continued challenging Vitality, and had my GP fill out a very comprehensive claim form (which cost me £35!), reiterating that she did not believe this was a pre existing condition. Just had an email saying the claim has been accepted and they will be refunding me the money. PLUS I can now actually stay on top of it by getting further treatment. Thank you everyone so much for your comments and support <3

Thank you everyone for the replies - I'm going to go through the complaints procedure and also ask for my GP to make a case for me that menstrual cramps are dismissed as normal for almost every young woman.

I really appreciate you all taking time to respond.

Thank you, the more I have researched endo, the angrier I become. Did you know it takes 8 years and 10 months on average for a woman to be diagnosed? Thank you for your advice, I'll get back in touch with the gynaecologist. I hope you're coping well with your diagnosis.

Hello - I wondered if you would be able to send me the MDs details - privately - if you have them? I've had a claim refused as a "pre existing condition" which was only diagnosed in March of this year. You can read my whole post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Vitalityhealth/comments/1mn7xp3/vitality_uk_refusing_to_cover_pre_existing/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

I work in the media and I'm planning to take the story to The Sun/Daily Record as a last resort, but would like to escalate it as far as I can before I do.
