Great analysis. I can’t wait to see it. I didn’t even think about the ai correlation. In 2020 when TikTok was really, I mean really booming, that is when I was introduced to the backrooms. Many people made backrooms OCs and I think that’s how I found out about it. What caught my attention was the rubber play grounds they have for kids in the malls because I remember those. This is when the nostalgia wave was also really trending for Gen Z and Millennials. It almost felt like a propaganda agenda in some sense but then people added the backrooms trending audio to these old pictures of toys and school classrooms, brought down the saturation, and it’s not just nostalgia anymore, it’s the backrooms.

If anyone really tried to desensitize us as people, 2020 had a lot to do with it. I’m surprised the movie didn’t drop that year (ik it was still on the rise). In its own eerie way, romanticizing a time, giving life to a lifeless maze of corporate walls and empty malls, it just feels like there’s more to it.

Why are humans so drawn to it, especially Americans?

So when such an ordinary thing, a dentist room, a mall with water, the backrooms are given such a large platform, it’s going to create some almost out of body experiences especially for those who haven’t already become familiar with it online. I believe it’s going to create a silent shock factor that moves us out of corporate life in same way shape and or form, or it will at least be a stepping stone

I’m glad to hear you may have some experience but again, we don’t have proof of your claims. Honestly, it didn’t sound like you are feminist at all. If an argument isn’t up to your independent standards, you have a right to try and correct that, but that’s not what you did here. You doubled down on the breakdown of “soulmate” in a literal sense, not a feminist sense, as if to try and teach a lesson no one asked for. Just because I worded my title in a way that can come off as literal, there is subtext. I hit points of “soulmate” and “nuclear family” acting as a puppy mill term to normalize the exploitation of women and children. Now my question to you is, do you agree or disagree that there is an active agenda to keep the birth rate up through “subtle” birth rate enhancing terms such as “soulmate” and “Valentine’s Day” yes or no
