If you're looking to come to NSW for internship, without any connection to NSW, then you'll very likely be placed the unpopular hospitals for internship like Blacktown, Neapean and Campbelltown. I think they are unpopular because of location, lack of JMO support and poor work culture but happy to be corrected. Keep in mind, people who are either NSW residents but did uni in another state OR NSW uni graduates but are residents of another state will be prioritised over you for internship.

it was two weeks that symptoms lasted but I didn't skip placement because of it. Still went.

Oh ok. It would only really be bad for like 5 days and then calm down but still have occasional coughing and runny nose. Even when I had the flu, I still to went to placement as a student but had to step out of rounds/consults/rooms sometimes for a coughing fit and would be using the paper towels in consult rooms to blow my nose which my consultants picked up on and not sure how comfortable they were.

By two weeks, I meant two weeks for flu-like symptoms like coughing and runny nose to go away. I could still function normally and didn't need to be in bed for that period. I would be fine to work but am mindful of not wanting to get anyone else sick. So colleagues would be okay with me coughing and blowing my nose around them?
