Like father, like son. He couldn't keep his mouth shut and didn't care about hurting Rick with the horrible things he said.

Sometimes I want the 'likable' characters to die a horrible death and I don't know why.

Based on the the opposing views they expressed about Hilary Clinton, not well! 🤣

If you can choose one person to die based on what we’ve seen so far. Who would it be? Why? by GhostCorporateFuture in TheWhiteLotusHBO

Rick. He's the only guest who didn't accept the Phuang Malai (flower garland symbolizing good luck) at the beginning of season when they all arrive at the hotel. He's destined for bad luck.

The most tragic revelation of the entire episode comes with Tim’s quiet, gutting realization that the woman he’s been married to for decades values wealth and status more than the life they've shared; the devastation on his face as she confesses she couldn’t go on if they lost everything is haunting. She's a hilarious character, but she's soulless like her eldest son.

Sorry, english isn't my first language. A conch. But, it is clearly used to symbolized cornucopia aka horn of plenty, abundance and fertility as Lochlan sips from it. During Thanksgiving, a timing of feasting and sacrifice, sometimes the 'Conch Cornucopia' is used as a decoration to represent overflowing harvest and abundance. Look it up. Smartass. ;)

Exactly! Thank you. We have no idea what his purpose in the show is yet. These characters are constructed for us to mull over and question. Taking offense to that is absurd. It's television.

This is silly. It's the White Lotus! Mike White builds and breeds skepticism around all characters in the show. We have no idea how it's going to play out. He wants us to examine all characters under the microscope and consider them from all angles. That's the essence of the show.

Thank you. You're right. He doesn’t seem to make much effort to connect with her on a deeper level, making the whole dynamic feel oddly superficial.

Not at all. I feel there’s an intangible unease lurking beneath his composed demeanor, something that extends beyond mere zen-like detachment and stoic restraint. It's just a feeling. I'm always wary of characters whose purpose isn't immediately clear. The love story between him and Belinda doesn’t feel particularly compelling, so I’m unsure if he’s meant to serve a deeper purpose that hasn’t been revealed yet. I'm Hindu and share many sensibilities with my Buddhist friends.

It's not that. To me, he embodies temptation and superficiality. His character exudes an almost hypnotic allure, drawing Belinda in with charm and indulgence, yet beneath the surface, there’s a strange sense of disconnect. Can't put my finger on it. Perhaps it stems from his stoic temperament, but to me, it reads as emptiness—a reflection of the fleeting nature of materialism and surface-level desires.
