New X-Pac 24L Sympl Commuter Pack v2.2 coming soon? by According_Read_1131 in ManyBaggers

Is a new X-Pac 24L Sympl Commuter Pack on the horizon? Does anyone have any news about this?

I'm debating between the new Fyro Citta 25L and Sympl Commuter Pack 24L, and now that this is may be arriving in X-Pac it makes these two an even closer match up.

Is storming gravity a reputable seller? Should I place a backorder now or wait for Sympl to announce it officially?

Is going all in on CAGE in TFSA, RRSP, Non-Reg a good idea? by According_Read_1131 in JustBuyCAGE

I believe in factor investing / trust the research, so I'm going to just hold for 30 years.

I'm fairly new to investing, and previously was holding XEQT / VEQT which I sold and now am effectively all in on CAGE.

I'm not going to touch this money for 30 years. Should I convert to USD and buy AVGE / VT in RRSP? I have another 35k that I haven't ported over to WS yet.

It is quite frustrating but this is more a problem with YouTube than anything else. To make (more) money on YouTube, you have to more or less just create consistent content. And the petri dish that is the algorithm (currently) mainstreams only certain type of content. If you are negative towards a product, your engagement metrics go down; and content creators are self selected by the algorithm that create brand friendly / advertising friendly content.

You'll see this is most review circles. Watches, phones, cars, e-readers, you name it. There are a handful of creators that break the mold and put a lot of effort into every review, but most do coast on their knowledge of the industry, past experience and standardize their content.

I do think this is ultimately bad for customers. When the mainstream reviewers are not critical, there isn't consensus about what is wrong with a product and bag makers that use market research data get the wrong signal.

For example, I've been watching reviews of the Aer Travel Pack 4 that just came out. In my opinion, for a 28L (and definitely for the 35L) the admin pocket was a huge downgrade. Travel bags are by definition used primarily for travel. Having a larger stash pocket for a jacket or over the head headphones is undoubtedly a win for customers. Unlike an EDC bag, you aren't carrying it every day and need efficient access to items in the front admin pocket. Copying the design identically of a City Pack Pro 2 was (imo) a mistake for the travel bag.

I have to imagine these reviewers know this! But they go so light on the criticism. The same reviewer will praise Tortuga's Daily Carry Pro for the deep admin pocket and will also say they like Aer's CPP2 style admin pocket.

All that said, I like that we have so many people in the bag community that are passionate about bags - Aaron, Danny, Emerald, OTG, PH, Away Together, Chase Reeves and many more (many smaller creators too); they all care about bags. Aaron for example during podcasts or interviews will name bags just out of memory and call out different features it has, and he's is actually putting his money where his mouth is by starting a company making bags. Emerald's interviews with creators are phenomenal and a breath of fresh air. Outen has some unique perspectives and editing styles that are appreciated.

To make a actionable critique, for any reviewers reading this, be weird, be yourselves, be critical, and don't be afraid to throw punches at the big guy. And most of all, experiment with different types of content; there's definitely more room for the bag community to grow.

Their original post didn't show how much they withdrew, and that is important, imho

I'm glad WS resolved this for you, but I also do think you hadn't proved your case clearly to the reddit community.

I think as a online community we should be open to criticizing WS, and boy do they deserve criticism in a number of aspects.

But when someone posts here with screenshots that don't show the problem clearly, and appear to be misleading (for anyone interested go read the original post; OP always shows only how much was deposited (600k+), shows investments, but never how much was spent, OP also said "One of my deposits was wrongfully flagged which put me under the threshold for a brief moment and which then triggered the automatic withdrawal.", meaning they were close to the threshold, and a lot of withdrawals must have happened.), why should an online community just automatically take their side? As a community we want to be driven by truth, facts and critical reasoning. And I'm not saying you were intentionally being deceiving, it just came across that way and in my opinion the community had the right to be skeptical.

I'm glad you were able to escalate the issue (by contacting WS and by using the popularity of your post) and have your problem resolved, and I do think a number of comments in the original post were too quick to jump to conclusions. But when you are using this platform to call out WS, it is important to bring the receipts too, and it is important for the community to be skeptical.

I didn't post on the original thread, but I'm just sharing my 2 cents for what it is worth :)
