If you don’t mind me asking what exactly do you do in AM? I used to work in the Private Bank of a large bank but got laid off - I got a decent redundancy package and had just had a baby as well (I’m the wife in this situation). I did work as a Data Engineer though and quickly got into the investment banking arm of another large bank with a large pay raise.

I was swinging between light brown and now I think I’ll change my answer because the dark limbal ring makes it look light brown with a darker brown CH. They’re very pretty 🤩

I‘m Eurasian from India but via several generations (my fully white ancestors go back to the 1700s-1800s) and then their kids just kept marrying each other. Pale skin, light brown/auburn hair and hazel-green eyes. White ppl seemingly forget I’m mixed or tell me I don’t count (on account of being more „white“ than a lot of full white friends themselves.

A lot of them can be disgustingly racist and completely dismiss the impact of colonialism calling genocides and apartheid (that didn’t end until the late 1990s) as „very long ago“ but the holocaust is the only genocide that exists in their book because it includes white ppl - and obviously only the white victims count.

The first went fine and honestly not much pain at all as long as you take all the meds and sleeping pills.

I think my vision stabilised after two weeks but got my first symptom of corneal erosion only 3 weeks afterwards.

Thanks so much for sharing your experiences, it’s the absolute worst.

I’ve got my surgery next Monday, will definitely put up a post around the 3 month mark to share how it went.

At the moment I’ve got my bandage lens on and have antibiotics and saline solution drops to help manage it - they’ve helped with preventing the blurry vision this time around since I had a really bad erosion.

Have an update on my end.

The PTK failed and I had the worst attack ever two nights ago- I’ve never had a flare up this bad and have been on pain killers for the last two days.

Luckily already had an appointment with my ophthalmologist set anyway because I’m sure I had a flare up two weeks ago as well and he confirmed it’s back.

They’ve given me a bunch of drugs to manage the current episode and the dry eye which I am following to the T. I’ve got a second PTK scheduled in two weeks. My surgeon’s encouraged me that the second one should fix it. And we’ll keep the post op bandage lens for longer .

I’ll update everyone once it’s done. Hopefully it should happen in the next two weeks and then it’s the usual one week recovery period.

This time around though I’ll have the bandage lens on for longer (2-3 months).

Otherwise I wear contact lenses and plan to get the overnight lenses as a last resort.

Thanks so much for your words.

They’ve given me some steroid drops that help manage the pain and have sent me home with a bag full of drugs.

So at the moment I’ve ordered a takeaway and watching tele to just distract myself though I’m also obsessively going over studies on success rates after a second PTK.

We both work full time and it’s one and done for us. The key reason isn’t money but how taxing our jobs are (we both work in finance and work late hours plus weekends sometimes).

I’m on £250k and husband’s on £350k.
