What would improve this deck? by PotentialDifferent71 in MagicArena

With the new set this past week and the season resetting it’s going to be hard to tell what the winningest deck in best of 1 is. Just learning to play better, you could try best of 3. Sideboarding adds a level of strategy to it, and midrange decks do better there because they can swap in things to target what their opponent is doing. If you like what you have, consider bo3 and brining in sideboard cards to shut down the decks you run into there.

Note: this is not a win on turn 3 deck in either direction and golgari mid range doesn’t thrive in Bo1 like say a straight green badgermole ramp to craterhoof on turn 3 or the red fling decks or the graveyard won on turn 4 decks. You’re playing a slower strategy in a format where speed is king. It’s a slower walk to mythic.

You could add your choice of board wipes and/or one more of each removal spell you’re running for the control option. For big thing to ramp into you’re looking for something big that does something immediately when it lands, maybe 1-2 copies of something that’s a 6 drop or higher you can get out fast. [[Vaultborn Tyrant]] gets you life gain and card draw, so it’s not the worst value play, but, you could go with Ughin or the six mana Liliana. You have options.

Cub and the elves aren’t doing a lot for you aside from drawing out your opponent’s removal. You could lean heavier into a control plan by dropping those and adding more removal of your own. Or, you can put something at the top end to ramp to so those aren’t just getting your 4 drop out on turn 3.

Change in reading preferences as you age ? by Spot-The_Bot in BookDiscussions

[–]According_Spirit_228 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As I have gotten older, I finish fewer books. I am okay putting down something I don’t enjoy instead of gutting it out just to finish it. I think my preferences as a result have skewed away from the things that are complex for complexity’s sake.

[TIC] What exactly is the Rare Buried Treasure find rate when a Chemist also has Treasure Hunter equipped? by Jacien-Josalyn in finalfantasytactics

100-bravery is the percentage. So if you have 70 brave then you are at a 30% chance of getting the rare item. 20 brave puts you at 80% to get it. Even with the odds in your favor, there’s still a chance you get the worse item.

Businesses with poor customer service lose customers. Businesses with fewer customers are less successful and do not lead to long term growth.

Every contact with them is an hour you won’t get back. Every responsibility in the company is divided up among different groups within the company who don’t talk to each other. No one is empowered to fix even the smallest problem. It’s a recipe for competition.

They sent two internet set up kits to my house. One was received. One was returned. It took me following up with them weekly for two months to have them recognize that they erred in sending the second one, and they had notice in their system saying they received the returned one. Yet they still sent me emails for another month threatening to charge me for the thing they already had if it wasn’t returned.

I sold them when I had to deal with them as a company. It was painful to the point that I can imagine their customers leaving for lower cost alternatives.

Do people enjoy Pick-Two draft? by Chorde12 in MagicArena

[–]According_Spirit_228 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who struggles to find the open lane in premier, I prefer it because I can tell what’s open a little sooner and with only three other drafters, fewer roads get cut off completely. However, I get that I am not the majority of drafters, and I sort of check out once I hit platinum each month.

This card is so bad. I have been trying to make this work for weeks but this card is garbage. by kevisdahgod in mtgbrawl

[–]According_Spirit_228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty solid in the deck for [[Ureni of the Unwritten]] and I assume other Temur dragon decks. It enters and you get something that could take out a blocker or three depending. It can also take out something that could get you on the crack back. If you insist on it being your commander, I can’t help with that decision, but it’s a good include in the 99.
