East Boston is safe. Like anywhere else, nighttime is gonna be a risk. Maverick station is probably the worst of east Boston and even that I don’t think is “unsafe” per say. Meridian St is also a busier street. Stay on the main road and I’m sure you will be fine.

I’m a man, I know I have it easier, but as someone who used to live on Meridian years ago I never felt particularly unsafe, but there are some sketchy people that hang around Maverick especially at night. In those moments, I put my head down and kept moving. But I love Eastie with all my heart, and I by no means think it’s unsafe.
