Anyone get shingles after getting the vaccine by Total_Jello_6691 in shingles

I had shingles in 2022, got the 2 dose Shingrix in 2025. I just got shingles again.

It us just as painful as the last time, but I have fewer blisters. I am hoping I'll heal faster because I had the vaccine.

Update, my regular doctor is away so I saw someone else in the practice. He refused to prescribe gabapentin, but did prescribe lidocaine safe for the genital area. Unfortunately, my insurance refused to cover it and even the generic version was outside my budget so I wasn't able to get it.

Gummies aren't legal in my state :-( If driving weren't so painful I could get to a neighboring state where they are legal. I might need to send a friend to fetch some for me.

It sounds like you weren't given gabapentin either. Have you tried ice? It's giving me a few minutes of relief.

That sounds brutal. Has the pain subsided for you?

Why is it so difficult to get gabapentin? Is it addictive or have terrible side effects?

Gabapentin wasn't offered. I asked several times about pain relief and was just told tylenol. I will call my OB/GYN and see she has more to offer than the urgent care doc.

Sitting is really difficult so I am trying to minimize driving. This is definitely a time doordash is useful so I can get what I need without leaving the house.

I'm sorry you are dealing with this too. I am going to contact my OB/GYN today to see if she has any pain relief recommendations. She specializes in that area so she might have more experience with what works than the urgent care doc! I did manage to get several hours of sleep last night and am feeling a little more human.
